He shouldn't be throwing punches but I'll wait to hear what happened. If the Indiana guy was being a dick, then I can understand where emotions caused some anger.
I think you nailed it on the head aa he was most likely provoked by Tucker from Indy … we need to start putting these 2 year wonders back where they belong starting next year … this magic won’t last forever with Indiana

Miami showed lack of discipline during the game committing a penalty when Indiana had third and long that gave Indiana a first down in stead of forcing a punt on a drive that led to a touchdown. Might have happened twice. Not a Hoosier fan but glad the BIG won lat night.

Miami rb Mark Fletcher threw a punch at an Indiana DLineman immediately after the game ended.

Asst coach pulled him away and escorted him to the locker room.

Miami being Miami.
But is he a thug? I hope not but what could make a player do that postgame. The only thing I can think of was that IU player doing something really dirty during the game but nothing was noticed.

In the first half and IU player came away from a big pile pushing, pointing and yelling at a Miami player so you wonder what some players do in those piles to hurt an opponent. It happens.

I hope you are not super sure the IU player caused this postgame. Maybe something happened during the game but no one noticed anything. I have to say IU and Cignetti got lucky getting two really good if not great QBs the last two seasons. But it also seems that a lot of very good coaching and player skill made this possible. IU really shut down miami's run game except for one big run and that is more that one IU safety went to the wrong hole. IU is out Ferentzing Kirk, they run the ball really hard and well and alot and they can pass the ball especially when needed.

I wish KF had this kind of passing game back in 2021-2023 because the hawks had the defenses to win a Big 10 and Natty Championship

Yea every other program in the country wishes they had IUs passing game, that’s why they are the national champs.

Still not a reason to throw a punch.
I would think there would be a suspension coming for next year. The Florida A&M Rattlers won't be facing Mark Fletcher would be my guess. They have Notre Dame the following week.

Sports and the intensity of it brings out the best and the worst in people, and not a good look for Mark Fletcher to be sure.

Don't know the kid, so I won't rush to judgement on his character, but I do think it's pretty cool that he texts his deceased Father before every game.

Early in the game a DL for Indiana was working Fletcher over at the bottom of the pile and Fletcher looked like he was holding his wrist or arm afterwards. This was after Mendoza got popped in the chin. You don’t want to see a lot of flags for conduct in the championship game, but I think the refs let it get out of hand.

Nah you don't get to punch someone because you're emotional about a football game.

No one should get punched, but we don't know what provoke his reaction. I think it was really bad for ESPN to show that situation when they knew nothing about what really went on. It just wasn't needed to be shown without more details.

Not saying he did, but how do you know the IU guy didn't throw a punch first. That's why we have to wait for the details before jumping to conclusions.
Because there's cameras everywhere always recording at any event. There'd be multiple videos by now of an earlier punch. Trying to fight someone at any point in a sporting event is idiotic.

Why are some of you so quick judge fletcher without knowing the details. I don't know if he's a thug or not, I'll wait to hear what comes if it. The Indiana player didn't look to innocent. I'm not a Indiana or Miami fan so I really don't care. I'll wait for the facts. Has anything been posted more than just the punch?

If there's camera everywhere then please provide all the interactions before the punch. I want to make my decision based on the whole video, not just a portion.

What a strange hill to take a stand on. So trying to fight someone after a sporting event ends is justified if emotions are high or the other person is being a dick or some other reason not mentioned yet? Post game fights are stupid and players who partake are equally as dumb. Defending someone for fighting might also put you in the dunce camp but I don't have all of your prior interactions so please provide before I make my decision. (Kidding, kind of)

So it’s ok to physically attack someone if they hurt your feelings? No less on national TV. Strange times we live in, people trying to rationalize conduct like this.

Why would you post that, you're just going to kill the buzz of some posters who want to quickly judge Fletcher.
Yea Fletcher showed a lot of class, he was Clearly conducting himself as a gentleman and a scholar.

Yeah, sports networks never show fights between athletes. No one wants to see that... :ROFLMAO:

A little more context to the situation.

Until I see a link to these supposed comments Tucker made online about allegedly taunting Fletcher about his late father.....

I'm not standing on any hill. I'm standing in the valley and waiting for more information before I climb any hill. Coming to a conclusion before getting all the information seems to be more of a dunce camp move to me. I'm not defending anyone, I'm just not going to judge either player based on a 5 second video.
