It’s probably nearing the end of the Self era at KU, and when it does, you’ll see how a Blue Blood program properly performs a coaching search/ replacement, and don’t be surprised when they end up with someone who picks up where Self left off.

Honestly Oats is better fit at KU than UK. Would be a dangerous duo.

I do believe Self needs to step down. The way college sports are, it could be the death of him. Don’t care for him as a coach but has had a great career.
your exactly right for his own health, he has had a heck of a career. I have to believe the Peterson situation has got to be a driving factor of his stress. The Peterson situation reminds me of our Sharpe situation but at least he is playing a few games, comical.

Adidas pays him to be there, not Bill Self.
Ok. Nike pays Stokes. … Bill Self recruited him. Self possibly might not come back. He can decommit and come to the Kentucky. I don’t really get your point? These highly rated kids don’t bow down to shoe companies anymore in 2026.

Younger folks are living in a world where they do whatever the hell they want regardless of what generation has a problem with it.

This isn’t 1950. Kinney isn’t getting tied up and whipped by addidas.

I may be in the minority but I have always liked Self.
Always been good in my book. Good coach. Never anything crazy on the sidelines. Coaches hard. Program might be a little dirty but I wouldn’t be the one to mind that even at Kentucky. I’m definitely the minority 100% when it comes to this image thing Kentucky fans act like they have to hold up.

Surprise it’s Kentucky. Most of the country makes fun of Kentucky / Mississippi/ Arkansas…. Country hillbillys poor states bla bla bla…

Can we at least have the one thing back that our State takes pride in? Kentucky Basktball? I doubt it because people would rather quiet down the passionate side of the fan base while all the money suckers sit back and collect.

1. Hope for a speedy recovery for Coach Self...he's a great coach.

2. Kansas is going to get Oats in the near future, when Self retires due to health reasons. I can just feel it. Sigh.

Heard it could be a new hairpiece, one with some grey highlights. Get better Coach Self, prayers for a speedy recovery of what ever happened

Yup..probably Oats or one of the other numerous good hire we could have made if we had a decent AD.

Real talk: Kansas fans need to see what happened to us after Cal and cryogenically freeze Self. When he steps down, they will be staring down a barrel. Hold him as long as you can.

We will see, they have some of the same hurdles we have. Not a rich school, hanging onto legacy, not a whole lot of NIL offerings compared to a place like Miami or Michigan. Snooze-fest of a city that isnt really attracting anyone.

Oats is a good coach, but as we've seen he's not infallible and he's not unbeatable.

Let's put it this way. KU has freaking "strippers" and poles at one of their midnight madness and Snoop. The KU crowd was LESS than thrilled. How do you think that'd have gone over here? It wouldn't have.

And the brawl. That was not a good PR year for KU.

Also remember, at UK you don't get shielded from the rules....you get reamed.

I get it. Kansas is basically Louisville. But I’ve heard Kansas is maybe the most boring place to live in America so I can’t blame self for having strippers at madness. And Snoop? That’s awesome. I wouldn’t be mad if UK had snoop. Which part of the fan base would? You? We seemed to do just fine with Drakes ga…….happy self.

Edit: Snoop basically hosted the Olympics for the United States last time around. Even tho he was just a supporter. I don’t remember much other than Curry going nuclear and Snoop.

My wife has commented for a couple of years that Self's face gets pretty red at times during games.
