How much better could it be, beating Miami on their Home Field. A Blocked Punt for a Touchdown, a Heisman-Trophy 4th down run by Mendoza and an Interception for the Win.

And as a bonus, the Indiana Crowd was so loud the Miami Offense was having issues!

1). Special Teams - Blocked Punt for a TD
1a). Special Teams - Field Goals - 2
2). Offense - 2 TD’s
2a). Bonus: Heisman run by Mendoza
3). Defense - Interception to Seal It
4). Indiana Fan’s Crowd Noise

What a Complete Win.

Coaching, Offense, Defense, Special Teams, and Fans Win the National Championship on the Opposing Team’s Home Field! And had the lead the entire Game.

Unexpected, Unrespected, Unbelievable and Undefeated run to the National Championship!

This was a Secretariat triple-crown run in the Belmont! Everyone will remember this Game!

Last four games, they beat:

Ohio State
Alabama
Oregon
Miami, on the Home Field.

Congratulations Hoosier Nation!

Post this crap on their board. This is the Husker board. You know, the team that lost to Indiana 56-7 in 2024? Do you think any Indiana fan is going to wake up this morning and say, hey let's check to see what they posted on that ****** team's message board?

Slightly off-topic but that 56-7 loss was what convinced me Rhule wasn’t the one.

DeBoer, who most people wanted to be the Head Coach at Nebraska, also would be disqualified as a coach based on their performance.

As far as the OP goes, the difference in the game was that Indiana tackled and Miami didn't.

I’ve been posting here for over 20 years and will continues to do so, rather you like it or not.

And I’m not so insecure that I can’t Congratulate an incredible effort and success, even if I’m incredibly envious.

I always pull for teams in our Conference. Sorry your feathers 🪶🪶🪶were a little ruffled, but that’s your issue, not mine.

So Dan Lanning isn’t the answer for Oregon since they got blown out by Indiana
What? Talk about a false equivalency, holy crap.

Compare Dan Lanning’s body of work to Matt Rhule’s. Compare Oregon to Nebraska recently.

It’s not even close.

Getting blown out by Indiana in the playoffs is quite different than getting blown out by 49 points in the regular season.

And Indiana wasn’t nearly as good last year as they were this year.

Again, this isn’t even close.

I did'nt really care who won...but it was a good game...
I would of liked if miami lost at the end with a pass deflected in the end zone.
it's kinda messed up indiana did'nt have to win it in the orange bowl, in sand, with the refs jumping up and down for miami, on new years night.
it was kinda messed up miami had a problem with crowd noise too, that band wagon filled up quick.
I don't know about cig, could be dan akroids brother...but you have to like that Mendoza qb
both them teams did good putting the whippin's on osu, bama and georgia

Apples and oranges. I would expect a coach playing for a chance to play for title, after having seen the team earlier in the season to be more prepared.

I think it's quite clear why Indiana was and is so good and other coaches and schools have started to figure it out, having men play against boys. Indiana had men in their mid twenties playing against most teams teenagers and young men of around twenty. This new model will be the norm going forward for most teams. You sign players who were once 2 and 3 star players from different programs play five years and once their done they are men in their mid twenties. It's all about men playing against boys and Cignetti figured it out first.

You will have a few players who are freshmen play who are 4 and 5 star players but there will be fewer going forward. I don't know for sure but Indiana had one of the oldest rosters in college football. Bottom line most schools will follow Indiana's model and the playing field will even out in the coming years, it's evolving.

I mean it helps, but it's far from the only thing explaining Indiana's success. If this were really the ultimate formula, BYU would have been winning national championships every year.

Other than BYU players are taking 2 years off from school and sports.

I agree about BYU and the age of players but what I'm talking about is staying in school for up to six years and constantly working on your craft which is football. It's not a concept of my own but one that many professional people espouse to, I just happen to agree with it. It's one thing to go on a two year mission and quite another to constantly working on football while getting older and more mature.

Not Siri but Beck is just one an example of an older player, and there are many more who are older than Beck playing.

Beck has been in college since 2020. He signed with Georgia in December 2019 and spent his first season with the Dawgs in 2020. He took a redshirt that season, and spent 2021-2024 with Georgia. He only became a starter during his last two seasons there, in 2023 and 2024.

4 guys were the difference in the game. Mendoza, Black, Becker and the Miami guy on the punt protection team who missed his assignment. That’s it. 4 guys.

This is why as much as we hate on Dylan Raiola he may well turn into a great player if he red shirts and matures as he ages, Rhule just rushed the process and so did he.

Rhule has no notion of process, timeline, or anything related to improving a football player.
