Nice job Bears! Not a Bears fan, didn't grow up in Chicago, but always rooted for you while I was there! Link

Hah, the Bears won! I went to bed last night when the Packers scored a TD mid 4th quarter to go up by 11. I figured the Bears could come back, but I wasn't going to stay up to watch.

CW will rewrite the entire record book for QB's for the Chicago Bears. This is his first year in Ben Johnsons system and only his second year in the league. He will be even better as he gets more experience. He is a QB not an athlete playing QB.
It looks as though DA BEARS have finally hit the right combination of HC and QB to make Chicago a perenial playoff team and dare I say a Super Bowl champion. Still have work to do but they are trending in the right direction. Finally after all these years. Coaching does matter.

I'm a Northwestern Wildcat fan, it's my school. I'm a NY Jets fan, I grew up just miles from where they (used to) train.

Jets and Cats. I sure can pick 'em eh?

Are you a Mets fans too? Mets and Jets is the ultimate football - baseball combo of futility outside of Cleveland.

Chargers sucked tonight. They had too many injuries to their oline to compete. Hopefully Slater and other injured oline will fully recover for next year. Herbert got beat up this year without his key linemen like Slater to protect him.

He may have had an injury-compromised career ultimately, but Derrick Rose was electric in his MVP season.

To a lesser extent I could argue for the Rizzos, Baezs, Toews and Kanes of the world as well.

It's heartbreaking to see Jim Harbaugh go out again in the first round of the playoffs. I guess it's harder to cheat your way to a title in the NFL.

He made an awful throw, but the play call was equally as bad if not worse.

The Bears loss was eerily similar to the Bills’.

Losers keep losing. 🤷‍♂️

Those were comebacks against mediocre to a horrible raiders team. The only exception is Green Bay. Should question if you should be having to comeback against those teams. Many of those could have gone the wrong way and have extra 2-3 losses to bad teams.

Bengals 6-11
Raiders 3-14
Giants 4-13
Vikings 9-8

Well, they lose 3-4 games more and miss the playoffs with Caleb being a magician.

Don't really care about the Bears, but I'm glad the Niners lost. You know the best part of the Niners losing? Christian McCaffrey won't have to risk getting hurt by playing in any more playoff games.

OMG that throw
That touchdown to tie it was one of the most amazing throws I've ever seen. 50 yards in the air while falling backwards. I think that has to thrill you as a Bears' fan. However, those picks and a couple almost picks are what make you lose your hair.

Just way too much inconsistency both in throwing accuracy and/or route running, and I think playcalling was poor in the red zone (looked familiar?). Bears failed to capitalize on home field advantage and just looked lost of offense.

They struggled on 3rd and 4th down and short. Otherwise, the offense moved my the ball consistently, even without a running game. I fault Johnson for not finding something that would get us a couple of yards other than trying to run off tackle. And take the points from the 30 yard line on 4th and 3.

It was a tremendous arm throw in terms of arm strength, but he floated it up to a guy completed covered by a DB… and then the DB literally ran away from the ball. I’ve never seen such a bizarre misread of the ball in the air by a DB.

Totally agree. I have no idea what the DB was doing. He must have just absolutely misjudged the ball's trajectory. But as far as CW is concerned, the play worked, so it was amazing!

That is I would say a pretty good definition of inconsistency!

There aren’t more than 5 QB’s in the NFL at most that you would want over Caleb in building your franchise.
Umm disagree. Stafford is too old to “build” around but these young QBs have been just as impressive or moreso off the top of my head

1. Mahomes
2. Josh Allen
3. Drake Maye
4. Jordan Love (if the Packers had Micah Parsons…)
5. Darnold (looks likely to win a Super Bowl this year)

Mendoza may also be a generational talent. And a lot of Lamar Jackson, Herbert, Lawrence, and Stroud fans would vehemently disagree.

Caleb needs to surpass them in the playoffs.

Ummm... Burrow may be the best, just on a bad team

I would only take the first two, Burrow is the other. I don’t think it’s even a debate with Darnold and Love just isn’t as good. I would have 4-5 ahead if those two, and Caleb well ahead.

Forgot about him. Talk about a prime candidate to be traded. Any thoughts about a potential trade to Miami for Tua (plus draft picks), or to Arizona for Kyler Murray (plus draft picks)?

You sound like a guy from the suburbs who goes to Miami or a southern college for the first time and falls in love with the many 7s and 8s they see.

Or the typical Northwestern student who can’t believe his eyes when he sees his first true college 6 (AKA an absolute 10 in Evanston and an otherworldly 12 at UChicago).

Bears fans have experienced a lot of pain at the QB position. Before Caleb, Jay Cutler was by far the best and he did nothing special in the league.

I truly hope Caleb eliminates the maddening parts of his games which cost them often. I also hope Johnson stops making terrible decisions.

But these are the Bears, and their leadership is arguably the weakest of all the major sports. McCaskey has no business running an NFL franchise.

Bo Nix, Burrow, Lamar if he’s young enough to count, Stroud, Hurts. Williams is in the Herbert/Lawrence tier.

Please don't include Stroud in that group. He had four INTs in the first half yesterday, including a panic throw that went for a pick-6. He was awful yesterday and was inconsistent all season. The Texans would have won yesterday with even mediocre QB play, and they'd probably be headed to the Super Bowl with Nix out for the rest of the season. Stroud is not a good QB to build a team around.

Welp neither is Williams and Stroud was a lot better last year
