Tough 5 game stretch, how do we do?

I could see them giving UCLA a game. Lost late on a questionable foul call on Lucy after she was tripped by Bruin player; were up 7 at the half.
I agree with previous posters that anything above 2 wins would be gravy.

I'm hoping for at least 3. Ranked teams but we're ranked above all of them except UCLA. So does that mean most think we don't deserve our ranking? Obviously keeping Ava on the floor is key, and Deal to continue her progress would be huge. It would be nice if McCabe found her stroke again as well.

The only game we "should" lose is to UCLA. The rest depends on if Jan has the girls ready from the start of the game and a good game plan. Then, hopefully the refs whistles are neutral and we have a decent chance at winning the other games.

Well if @Maryland if their still ranked 12th and were still ranked 11th I imagine we'd be the dogs in that one, so the "experts" would probably not put that one down as a win.

It's also worth noting that UCLA, MSU, and Maryland are all ranked above Iowa in the Net Rankings.

Worth noting, yes, but that's all. I think if I were Iowa I'd stilll show up and see what happens.
IMO, Iowa has good chance to beat all of these teams with exception of UCLA. I was just highlighting even further what a rigorous stretch of games this is starting today. MSU is 8th in the Net going in making them easily the highest ranked squad Iowa has faced since UConn and a great opportunity to jump back into the top 12.

True enough. Hopefully MSU at Carver will be a home win. I guess @ Maryland is the tipping point game making this a really successful 5 game stretch. Win that one and USC and win at Carver and were in really good shape

Frankly I don't get the net thing sometimes. Watching the Minn vs Washington game. Minnesota is ranked right next to Iowa in the net. They are 12-5 and 3-3 in the B1G. We are 15-2 and 6-0. They haven't beaten any of the better teams. They did give Maryland a real scare at home. That was also Marylands first game missing a couple of their stars. They are going to lose to Washington. They have the same record coming in. Even before today Minn was 15 in the net and Washington was 31 and they BEAT Michigans *** earlier. Makes no sense.

It must have something to do with the always questionable "good losses".

Agree, I just can’t figure that out. I believe ISU had a fairly high net without a tough schedule.

If Oklahoma can handle SC... The Hawks definitely have a shot against UCLA... Might be a long shot but... I'm saying there's a chance
Oklahoma is an excellent team that was playing at home. I wish the game was being played in I.C.. I don't give Iowa much of a chance in Pauley.

Well you got your 2!

I think they beat Ohio State AND USC.....UCLA is a bit of a machine right now.
All very tough games. OSU's only 2 losses were to UConn and UCLA which was only a 7 point loss and beat a top 10 TCU team last week. USC's losses were to Uconn, Maryland, 1 point loss at Minnie. They recently won at Nebraska and gave MSU all they could handle last night in a 6 point loss to MSU in East Lansing.

If they can win these 2 games heading into UCLA at 19-2/10-0, they've locked up a 4 seed minimum barring a complete season ending collapse even if they were to split the rest which I don't see happening. I'd love a 2 seed, but if a few losses drops Iowa to a 3 outside of Uconn's region I'd probably prefer that. In any case, there will be post season basketball in I.C. this year.

It's a good deal that we only play Michigan and OSU once and they're both at home. Illinois too.
Michigan and OSU are both excellent top 10/15 teams. The Illinois women aren't like the Illinois men. They're a good middle of the pack team in the Big10 this year, sitting behind UCLA, Iowa, Mich, MSU, and OSU who I see as a cut above everyone else in the conference with UCLA probably on their own rung as well.
