Honest question because I haven't looked...

I know most of the ISU guys went to PSU. Sama to Wisconsin (which he blew it. Transfered to my dynasty twice in NCAA and won the Heisman at Iowa... Just saying)
The other dude to USC.

Are there any other guys we would be interested in?

HS vids are impressive. Not elite speed but very good vertical. True X type WR. Doesn't look like he had any game action at SMU.

Just say you don’t know ball if this is how you view both of these quarterbacks. Mark may be atypical but thrived in Iowa’s system, leading to higher QBRs in practically every game outside of the first two of the season
Telling someone they don’t know ball for saying Raiola is better than Mark is already crazy work. Using ESPN’s QBR stat is even crazier. That stat is terrible.

I suspect you used it because it’s literally the only stat Mark has that is better, even if you include rushing yards and TDs in there.

I am assuming the smu kid is a walk-on target. I would have much rather had Kasper if this is a scholarship offer type, plus we really need a DT at this point.

How else do you want me to illustrate the 27 sacks over a 6 game stretch? Watch the film.

You don’t know ball.

A guy like what? A big DT that was highly rated from St. Louis that we offered out HS, seems exactly like the guy we should be targeting.
I don't think the money is there unfortunately. Going up against ND and Oregon. No different than the Desir twins, that would make a huge impact on the DL right now, but it won't happen.

High dollar power 4 transfer. We target FCS players to better allocate money and bring in hungry players. If this kid went to Oregon we cant afford him

I don’t mind them going that route for the majority of our portal additions but to me DT is/was the biggest glaring hole coming into the portal season. They will need to open up the checkbook for it more than they have to address that position.

If he has an OL that blocks he will be better.
If any QB that gets an OL that blocks better, they’ll be better. To me qb mobility, makes your line look better.

While I have a little doubt that our O line actually improved, it’s not lost on me that they looked even better than they were with finally not having a complete statue back there for a change.

Gronowksi was a fullback that played QB, Hecklinski is going to have much more quickness, but we will see if his body can hold up to the contact the way that Gronowski did. I am legit terrified if Iowa has to go to Brown this year.

Well, I don't think we have to worry about Lester calling a delayed QB draw up the A gap.....dude would get killed. With Heck, my guess is there won't be much, if any, called QB runs.....any rushing yards he gets will be to the outside if he gets chased out of the pocket.

In an RPO style of offense, qb runs are part of it. While I agree that A gap runs probably won't be a huge part of the offense, there will be QB runs.

So we owe Spencer an apology, cause he had some OLs that stunk.

According to Dochterman and Leistikow, it sounds like the punter is being finalized, so I'm assuming we are getting another aussie.

has anyone heard anything about Khalil Poteat? Kid has nice size, he had visits lined up to Kentucky, Mississippi State, maybe Northwestern, and was working on one to Iowa.

I haven't seen anything on CJ Bell at this point, I'm sure he'll find a landing spot, but I wonder if the hawks would take him back.

Iowa's portal plan is interesting. Not enough NIL funds? Kirk only wants players that really want to be at the P2 level?
Thought not getting a QB in the portal would free up funds to go after other positions.
The players they have so far seem to be good additions, just an interesting strategy

From what Eikholt said, it sounds like they may have had to pay up for WRs, especially Diaz. I think this is a problem most of us have when looking at star ratings. If you look at the offer list for most of these guys it's a pretty impressive class.

Tony Diaz offers: Alabama, Kentucky, Baylor, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, Arkansas, Virginia Tech
Evan James offers: Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Georgia State, Marshall, Temple
Xavier Styles offers: Pitt
Tyler Brown: FSU, LSU, UCLA, Wisky
Anthony Hawkins: Wisky, Kentucky
Lance Ingold: Northwestern, Fresno st.
LJ Phillips: Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA, Florida State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State
Trent Wilson: Tulsa, SMU, Memphis, Yale, and Army
Khamari Brown: UNC, Toledo, Virginia, Iowa, Purdue

Is Darian Mensah going to leave a 4 million dollar option for Miami? **** is getting out of hand with tampering at this point.

He's a big boy with 3 years left, nice!
Is it three? His profile says he was a redshirt sophomore this past season.

He spent two years at St. Thomas, playing in two games in 2023 and two more in 2024 before suffering and injury. He spent 2025 at ND. Maybe he'll get a medical RS for the 2024 season.

With portal wrapping up today. Be interesting what the final numbers are for schools who lost and added. I think this is another year where Iowa will be near the top of the list for fewest players lost. Testament to the staff.
