It's monkey see, monkey do. They see all these college kids transferring every year and making a big production of it on social media and think they have to do it too.

I hate the graphic art these kids are putting up on Twitter in their "new" uniforms.....or as this latest one is of him breaking out of his Rita uniform into his Montini uniform like he's Superman. I'm also sick of reading after "much prayer".....maybe he did pray a lot but I'm just guessing not many of these kids who claim to be leaving after much prayer really asked for guidance from above...if I'm wrong shame I'm me but I wouldn't bet against me
thank you for saying this...IMO, it's said to make it feel like it's not their decision they are leaving - it's Gods. So, previous school, don't take it out on me.

Doesn't his family have to move for him to be eligible?
Im not sure where he hailed from before but guessing he didnt commute from Lombard to Rita fo 3 years so Im guessing either they moved as a family permanently or rented a reasonable apartment in the area of Montini for him to reside in for the next year or so.

Played for glenwood growing up so I’d imagine that area.

you have to sell your home, or show you truly are abandoning it. If you have younger siblings, they can no longer go to the school inside your school district. So let’s say he lived in homewood and he went to Rita. His younger siblings couldn’t go to HF schools anymore. They would also need to move schools.
If he has a family member in Lombard area, he can’t just move in there or use their address. The family would have to essentially sign over parental rights to that person.
Public to private you can show change in income that you can afford private school now, a move isn’t require but siblings cannot go to that districts school anymore .

So that’s the IHSA way, I am sure there are loop holes flaws and ways around it. A recall a 3 star tackle transferring last year to a CCL school the week of doubles and he was ruled eligible. If there is a will there’s a way.

What am I missing here? That cannot be true. Just because older brother transferred from Wheaton South to St. Francis doesn't mean younger brother cannot continue to go to Wheaton South...Unless you are saying to get a waiver to not sit out a year? That would seem like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

If freshman mid year transfer, or start soph at new school. And not playing a varsity sport it shouldn’t matter. But if the player will be upperclassman or on varsity then yes, the younger sibling technically can’t stay in their current districts school.

There was an athlete from my school years ago that went CCL, Public, CCL over the course of three years and only moved on paper. Dad finally got what he was looking for on the third move since he finally got him against lower competition.

Allegedly kid has an agent. Family is first generation and hired an agent to look out for their child's best interest. Are you serious?? Agents are like piranhas who only care about their bank accounts. This is getting out of control.

HS kids are transferring for money?
NIL is legal in Illinois for HS athletes and the further this goes the more I wonder how much NIL has to due with all these transfers.

Why no one is talking about this aspect of all the transfers makes me even more curious.

Yes I know NIL is legal in IL. I've seen some athletes post their NIL, many times it's a "brand ambassador" thing, or use "my code" to purchase something and they get a kickback.

I've yet to hear of a IL athlete actually being paid significant cash from anywhere to play. Maybe it's happening, but we would probably count on both of our hands the number of IL athletes that it applies to.

I'm very curious if it's happening and how much money is being passed around. From the by laws listed below it sounds like all is fair and the IHSA just doesn't want to know about it.

I remember HF had a basketball player couple years ago land a big one from Nike. I’ve seen a couple kids land local car dealerships or chain restaurant like Buffalo Wild Wings or Cains. To my understanding anything over $600 needs to be reported to IHSA. Anything under that it doesn’t

By law doesn't mention anything about a dollar amount needing to he reported.

Was a better basketball player. Pretty raw at football. I don’t see him being more than role player at either school until his senior year especially with Rices interior D line coming back and the sophs coming up.

This is precisely what I was told.

Any word on Weeks 1 & 2?

Also you hearing two OL brothers from DePaul moved to southside and at Rice now.?

Yeah they are there. They’ve been realllllly quiet but the number of mid year football transfers being tossed around from people inside there right now is 6.
