its not an opinion its actually part of the themes of One Piece...why wouldnt people want to know what something is about that they will encounter at a basketball game

The core themes of One Piece revolve around freedom, friendship, perseverance, and anti-oppression, centered on Monkey D. Luffy's quest to become Pirate King, which he defines as the freest person in the world. The series explores finding one's "peace" amidst trauma by uniting friends who share dreams, fighting corrupt systems, and redefining justice beyond the World Government's control through adventure and unwavering willpower.

I'm SO glad I'm going to be in Aruba and missing this............

Neither does political anime at college hoops games but I digress
Ah. Whataboutism. If you have a problem with it, call Rutgers and complain. Nobody here can help you, spewing your political views on this board (against board rules) will not get anything changed.

And for what its worth, if the anime being presented at the game is indeed political in nature, then I agree it has no place at a college basketball game.

As a resident young person, I promise you the average One Piece fan is neither very political nor hip to its political themes.

I do think it’s kind of a dumb promotion that I don’t think will meaningfully introduce people to Rutgers basketball, I think they just want the trading card. Thank god we suck this year lol, it’d drive me crazy as a Johnnies fan to have the Garden full of One Piece fans against UConn next year.

Dumped mine since I did not want to deal with hoopla.....Missing my first game in a long time but took advantage of the pricing. First time I ever sold on Seat Geek and it was pretty easy.

Sounds like democracy to me. Do you have a problem with freedom, friendship, perseverance, anti-oppression or fighting corrupt systems? Most Americans should love these concepts. At least they did until recently.

Over $300 asking price on Stub Hub -- what ? Not sure what to expect as far as who is purchasing these tickets (at this price) - But is this going to end up being worse than sitting next to a Michigan fan. Hopefully the answer is - that's not possible.

You have to realize the age of most people on this board and show them some grace. This is their safe space, no point in arguing about it, much of the trolls and manipulations we are experiencing currently in society are aimed towards them and young people with no friends or social life. Because it's easy to convince someone with fond memories of the past or someone with no fond memories or experiences at all that the changes happening around the world are for the worse. This influx of XYZ people is for the worse...but no ideas original, nothing new under the sun, all of this has happened before in various points in history and various societies world wide. Even happened in America with an influx of European immigrants, they were blamed for the short comings of others they were the reason people couldn't find jobs...when in actuality America needs cheap labor and cheap resources...it's how America became America and how the Western hemisphere became the western hemisphere..when one source of cheap/free labor wakes up and you have to start paying them fairly (woke? Lol) there needs to be an influx new of cheap/free labor..how else are we supposed to make profits and capitalize?

Yes, I'm anti-fascist. Shouldn't everyone be?
Absolutely.
Sounds like somebody OD'd on Fox News.
The "other" news outlets are just as bad.

NewsNation is the best out there right now, but I had one person close to me tell me it was like FoxNews.

Wish all the news channels would go back to the way it was. Truth be told, both "sides" have exhibited concerning fascist tendencies, that they justify under the guise of some nefarious greater good.

As far as the One Piece show- checked with my young adult children on this, and there is absolutely nothing to fear. Neither of them are sports fans, but they were absolutely on board going to this game just to see the One Piece action. Neither one lives in state, so that will not happen. IDK if the Eddie Wilson person in this thread was serious or not, but if he is serious, just wow. Enjoy life, even when the cup of tea is not what you want.

Stop deflecting and answer the question. Are you anti-fascist? I wish everyone in the USA was, especially after the blood Americans spiled liberating the world from fascism, but clearly that's not the case anymore.
During WWII US military was the largest member of Antifa.

Except Fox News admitted in the Dominion settlement that they are not news, rather they are entertainment and no reasonable person would consider their reporting as news.

True, but CNN, MSNBC and ABC, NBC and CBS are in the same boat. You may also remember that ABC News agreed to pay Donald Trump $15 million to settle a defamation lawsuit related to false statements made by anchor George Stephanopoulos. The other networks may not have made defamatory statements, but almost daily make statements that are ridiculously wrong, off base or terribly biased. For the most part (excepting certain guests), NewsNation does a decent job of riding the line between the nonsense on both sides.

I remember. That's a drop in the bucket for ABC to make it go away, cheaper for them than letting it drag on. And pennies compared to the 787 million Fox News paid to Dominion.

Agree that all news shows have inherent bias (except maybe News 12 NJ but who wants to watch the same 15 minutes of content over and over). Fox is the most outrageous and seems to try to spur anger from its viewers more than any other. And the statements made as part of the settlement are damning, however their loyal followers dont seem to care.

Have you checked the ratings? Fox has nearly 2x the audience of cnn and msnbc COMBINED and doubling its viewership share of the other 2 since the lawsuit you bizarrely interjected into this thread

"but it also covers themes like found family, racism, usurpation, genocide, rebelling against a tyrannical government, and more"

this is everything I want to avoid while watching something to be entertained

it's going to be quite a crowd, sounds like will be thousands of socially retarded misfits with a sprinkle of potential future school shooters
That has to be incredibly stupid, even for you!!
