Love to hear what it was like in Carver on Sunday. It was a shame the Hawkeyes are battling the flu and unable to generate the energy they always showed before. And it's a shame that has led to two straight games in which they've fallen way behind, just far enough that they couldn't quite come all the way back by the end. Did the spirited comeback leave you with some positive feelings? What was the overall atmosphere like?

I was there. Fullest I've seen Carver in a while. It got loud and fans were on their feet a lot. Got off to such a bad start but fought back into it and had chances down the stretch. Need a couple more horses on the court. Illinois was huge and blocked a lot of our shots inside. Ben can coach. Need shooters and size. Can he recruit guys will be the difference between good and greatness. The baby race race at halftime was good entertainment ! The guys behind us were betting on the babies. Good entertainment ! Of course I ll be back. love going to Hawkeye games.

Thanks for the replies and the positive vibes. Sooooo close . . . Dang. But I agree that Ben is the guy, and the Hawkeyes--even when ill--give it all they got all the time.

I was there and impressed with this team's scrappiness and overall defense. Our players need to bulk up more, and we should recruit larger-frame basketball players with speed. Illinois was significantly taller, but we held our own in rebounding mostly. Shooting, especially from three-point range, needs work. Throughout the game, I noticed the crowd's reaction was quite different from a football crowd. Often, it seemed like many were sitting on their hands, unlike at football games. I believe this team, and future teams, will attract crowds like Sunday's. It should become more like the football crowd to truly energize Carver all game long. I hope they start cheering from the start of the game and all game instead of just towards the end.

They didn't have much to cheer about in the beginning honestly

I mean, other than the guy I posted about yelling at people to sit down and the loss everything was good.

Agreed with everyone else - there was going to be a large crowd pop if Banks flushed that dunk. It was already really loud multiple other times. Credit to the Illini, they answered almost every one of our 3s with one of their own.
