It's not a difficult choice, at least no more difficult than choosing between ice cream (Indiana) and road kill (miami). Happy to help. You're welcome. It's way too soon for the Hoosiers but want to keep it in the BIG so I don't know how to feel about this.![]()
I think the speed with which their turnaround came about is way too quick. If we got Cignetti or someone like him, along with Cuban, who put us into the national championship within 2 years I wouldn't be surprised when other fanbases would be envious and had similar thoughts. It's not a difficult choice, at least no more difficult than choosing between ice cream (Indiana) and road kill (miami). BTW: "Way too soon" for the Hoosiers? They hadn't won an outright Big Ten title since the 1940s and hadn't shared one since 1967. That's like saying 2016 was way too soon for the Cubs to win the World Series for the first time since 1908. IMHO, of course.
Sure, but the NIL rules are the same for everyone. Anyone could have hired Cignetti. Anyone could have brought in 25 or so players from James Madison. Anyone could have done a lot of things. But Indiana did them. I don't envy them. I'm not jealous. But I do have some level of understanding of what a miracle they've pulled off, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for Cignetti, Mendoza, and the entire Indiana program. They've earned everything, plain and simple, and I'll be surprised if Miami can even keep it close in the title game. I hope Indiana runs 'em outta the place just like they have everyone else in the CFP.I think the speed with which their turnaround came about is way too quick. I will still root for Indiana but I'm not afraid to admit that I'm jealous of their extremely quick rise to the top.
The length of time they have not had success only proves my point. And yes, current nil rules certainly helped too.
But Mendoza is fantastic at getting the ball out quick, which negates and deflates edge rushers . . . and the rest of the D line . . . like few other traits. The Indiana passing game and balanced attack will be too much for those other guys, home game or not. This Indiana team will not be denied. It's going to be a fun game. Miami easily has the best tandem of edge rushers in the country with Bain and Mesidor.
Unless it's Nebraska I'm pulling for the Big10
I agree with everything you said and feel more or less the same. I am more envious of the fact that they pulled the trigger and we just can't and I'm aware that Indiana was in the toilet so it was a much easier decision than our situation.Sure, but the NIL rules are the same for everyone. Agreed.I like the whole Indiana, little guy, "Hoosiers" narrative, so rooting for Indiana seems like the right fit.
Also, Cristobal has a weird vibe, like he's Temu Jim Harbaugh, such that I want to see him lose.
