Great game! Determined comeback. Scrolled the roster while watching and nice to see the area high schools represented! Should have gone for it 4th and 1 with 2 1/2 minutes. It takes all three aspects...offense, defense, special teams. Sadly, two showed up. Proud day, though, for Illinois State and Illinois!

As my ex-wife used to say, hindsight is 50/50.
I was happy with the decision to kick (until they did). I admit I havent followed ISU football. The announcers said "Given the issues with their kicking game...." . Have they had a lot of issues with FGs? I guess that would influence my opinion.

Tough way to lose for the Redbirds, but great game overall.

I too thought they should have gone for it.

Not that familiar with the specifics but I know Ari Daniels from LWE was a redshirt decision this year…would have loved the chances with him on the FG or PAT. Why is the question. Great game even though not enjoying the final score….

The kicker looked terrified and didn't even have his helmet on straight. The bad snap sure didn't help. Heart breaking loss.

No way you kick that ball on 4th and 1 with almost a minute left on the clock. Even if he made it, how fast did Montana State go down the field at the end of the first half?

That one yard was no guarantee either. I've seen a lot of games this year with that disappointment now living in someone's nightmares

Those were the sixth and seventh blocked kicks of the season. Starting kicker was benched before the semifinals, and obviously, well, you saw the game.

If others want to discuss, have at it. If we didn't have game discussion and analysis, things would be boring.
My point is that sometimes a game is so special, a contentment can be had by simply being entertained by it and leaving it at that.
and you can do that and others can discuss.

I don't think this is the place in which a discussion will not happen. No matter how good or enjoyable the game is.
