according OWH. I would not be surprised if more kids do not realize that the grass is not greener out there.

Listening to some portal analysis this week, it's estimated that 25-30% of kids entering will not find another home.

Maybe it was completely made up, but players being left out is going to be happening in larger numbers than before.

Rhule just refuses to let dead weight go. We are still paying Foley, aren’t we?

I’ve seen 30-40% reported

I couldn't be the GM/coach because I'd cut their pay if/when they came crawling back. No way I'd bring em back and pay em the same. Testing the waters is gonna cost you a bit lol.

Hopefully, that's exactly what happened. Not sure how the rules work. But if they had a system where base pay increases each year, I would have portal returners start over again at bottom level 1st year status.

Good. Go down a level where they belong

Is this the equivalent of having an ugly girlfriend and one day she says, I think I want to date other people. A month later she comes back and said, you'll do but I'm leaving if I find something better.

I can't remember where I read it, but apparently Keona Davis also hasn't actually entered the portal. He just wrote a social media message that he was going to. I guess he has a few more days to pull the plug.

This 100% Announce you are hitting the portal and your NIL is immediately nullified. Change your mind? Well let's see what we have leftover (if anything).

Yes. This is inevitably going to lead to playing hardball with 19-year-olds who are going to have to learn the hard way. None of these kids' brains are even fully developed yet. What a cluster.

Was looking at the portal at Rivals and fully agree. So many three stars and very limited playing experience. Same goes with the NU portal guys with the exception of Raiola in that most are rated very, very low. Guess it does no harm to jump in and see if you can get some funds. Even $50K per year is better than I got as a college student, LOL. In fact took me a number of years back in the 1970's to get a $50 salary. Sickening to see that everything revolves around money now.

I'd love to know how many portal guys were processed out of their old school, basically cut from their scholarship. I'm guessing a good number of those inexperienced 3 star guys weren't given a choice.

As has been discussed, Davis may not be a fit for how the DL will be played next year and what player combos will be utilized. OTOH, he hasn't actually entered, so they may be trying to keep. him. Or his handlers are working a couple of schools behind the scenes.

A good number of these kids are coming out of high school thinking they are elite. And they were, at their high school. But the pond gets a lot larger in College. Everybody in a college program was a big fish. So when things do not work out they hit the portal. The numbers I saw 2-3 years ago were 40% never found a home. That is a lot of kids on the street. These kids are the ones left behind. Some of the ones that do find a home have to walk on and end up paying their own way. This part of the portal I hate.

Most of these guys have agents right? Why would you enter the portal if your agent can blast all of the D-1 schools that you’re taking offers? IF you’re a guy like Davis, i would let my agent gauge interest before I pulled the plug at NU.

Davis pulled the plug by announcing, or at least tugged at it a bit. So I guess that's a way to let teams know you are looking without officially doing anything.
