Refs reviewed it for five minutes and then determined the shot came after the buzzer. Plenty of Auburn tears tonight. Baby Pearl is 0-2 in the SEC. You hate to see it.
The clock on the court and the clock on the TV weren’t synced, so it looks like the ball was out of his hands before 00:00. You can see the red light come on over the backboard right when the TV showed 00.01. I still think he may have gotten robbed. It was close.Refs reviewed it for five minutes and then determined the shot came after the buzzer. Plenty of Auburn tears tonight. Baby Pearl is 0-2 in the SEC. You hate to see it.

I mean it was a home clock delay so if you actually time him touching it on initial catch then it's way more than 0.6. The officials can review that also.Maybe the refs have a different camera angle. From what I saw, it looked like he got the shot off or at worst, it isn't enough to overturn the call in the court...which was 2 arms up signaling a made basket.
It was obviously close.
Whatever either way, but hopefully there is a better angle that clearly shows he is holding the ball at 00 time.

Exactly… no way a 6’10 guy catches an inbound, pivots and rises to shoot a 40 foot jumper in less than .6 seconds.I mean it was a home clock delay so if you actually time him touching it on initial catch then it's way more than 0.6. The officials can review that also.
It was an odd time to decide to take a TV gig, albeit a prominent one with CBS’s #1 crew and it left Auburn in a tough spot. It made sense to make Steven the interim, but in typical fashion, they doubled down with a five year deal a couple of days later as if others were hot on his trail. It is amazing how much money college athletic directors have cost their schools over the years with decisions like this.It was not meant to be.
Unranked Auburn loses its 6th game and plays #15 Arkansas on Saturday. Can't imagine why Bruce Pearl quit.
Tangent, but look at the Raiders and their head coach payouts. It's dysfunction on full display, just like Auburn. It was an odd time to decide to take a TV gig, albeit a prominent one with CBS’s #1 crew and it left Auburn in a tough spot. Its "Mini Pearl". Please get this right....it needs to stick.Refs reviewed it for five minutes and then determined the shot came after the buzzer. Plenty of Auburn tears tonight. Baby Pearl is 0-2 in the SEC. You hate to see it.
Their two SEC losses have involved Buzzer beaters. I don't think Big Pearl foresaw that.It was not meant to be.

Exactly. As soon as I turned on the clip and saw that there was only 0.6 seconds left on the inbounds, I knew there was no way he could've legitimately made it. He caught the inbounds pass with his back turned to the basket. lol. So, we're supposed to believe he caught it, turned 180 degrees, set his feet, and launched that slow shot in half a second? Not possible. The Auburn clock operator's delay is the only thing that made it close.I mean it was a home clock delay so if you actually time him touching it on initial catch then it's way more than 0.6. The officials can review that also.

True, but he clearly saw the dudes in the locker room were mostly mid and not going far in the tournament. And he decided to leave on his own terms with a team that made it deep into last year's tourney. Also, Auburn will be most likely losing to Bama for the next few years, and that's not going to be fun. Was looking for a way out, found it and he gone.Their two SEC losses have involved Buzzer beaters. I don't think Big Pearl foresaw that.
Like us with Hutz 3 yr 1 mil per and Loadholt, whatever his deal is…..wasting money. It was an odd time to decide to take a TV gig, albeit a prominent one with CBS’s #1 crew and it left Auburn in a tough spot. A&M was shooting free throws. Auburn was out of timeouts and there was only 2 seconds left, so A&M missed the second free throw intentionally. Auburn rebounded and was doing a three-quarter court heave, but right as he shot the ball (which missed badly), the ref blew the whistle and initiated a review of whether the free throw hit the rim or not. If it didn’t hit the rim, it’s a violation and Auburn would inbound the ball with no time having come off the clock. After review, it was determined that the ball did hit the rim, so they determined there was 0.6 seconds left when they blew the whistle and Auburn inbounded the ball from three-quarter court.I was watching but somehow missed the explanation for why they got the ball where they did with .6 seconds after the review of the free throw. Anyone break that down?
Thank you. That’s what I thought may have happened so I have less sympathy for Auburn b/c they should have never gotten that clean of a look off anyway.A&M was shooting free throws. The refs start the clock on inbound plays. You can see the ref standing next to the A&M coach in the bottom right of the screen with his hand behind his back. There's a pack with a button there that starts the clock on inbound plays. I'm not sure if the same device is used to hear when a whistle blows to stop the clock, but if you get to a game early enough, you can hear the refs testing their whistles to get the sensors dialed in.I mean it was a home clock delay so if you actually time him touching it on initial catch then it's way more than 0.6. Of course. Most of us would've done the sameBruce Pearl knew when he was retiring the whole time. He did it so his son would get the job. Won’t convince me otherwise.
