Well, not much to say, this one blows.
What!!!!!!!??????? He decided not to go pro and stay with the hawks. Is he seeing he can make a bunch more dough someplace so he is going to leave??

Well if that is it he can go. I doubt he would be in the place he is right now without Phil P

Wow, first really befuddling, unloyal and completely shortsighted transfer for Iowa. Did not see this one coming. Wasn’t he our representative at B10 media days last year!?!?
This. KF had him go to media day and wasn’t even a starter year before. Picked him over guy like X 2 yr starter. He would’ve been at the bottom of list of guys I thought that would’ve been leaving.

if he goes to Mich. st Fitz is back to being public enemy #1

Whoever his agent is needs to be blacklisted by Iowa. Kid is getting terrible advice. Can’t imagine he’s getting that much more on the market than what Iowa could give him.

That and PP history with DBs going to the NFL. Only PP could end the 20+ year streak of not having a white starting CB in the league by developing Moss.

He was greater in fans' minds than what he produced on the field. Depth might make it an issue, but we should stop with all the adulation. I recall him getting beat in the Indiana game a few critical times, including their opening TD. A lot fo criticism of Brown but not toward Entringer in that game. Also, Iowa might be putting money on Lutmer, and there might not be enough to go to Entringer, which I fully support. If Entringer is a loss in that choice, we should accept that tradeoff.

This will hurt the secondary yet am I wrong in thinking the last few games I didn't see much production from him, no? Seemed the corners and Lutmer were all over the place and he seemed to be much more involved in earlier games this season...hmm..
Except for Indiana?

Strange, he always seemed like a guy who was bought in to Kirk and Phil's philosophy. To me, this feels as though someone offered him a blank paycheck.

But at least now I can stop pretending to care that he mouths the words to Kinnick's Heisman speech before every game or that he made a "hustle play" against Michigan in the B1G championship because he missed a tackle like an idiot.

I legit asked in the game thread when the game was over if Entringer played in the bowl game...

Does not surprise me one bit.
Since NIL started with no guidelines everyone in this forum would do the same.
Money has changed everything about college sports,
It's not about going to your favorite college or a scholarship to set you up in a career anymore.
Only making easy money.

This one really sets off alarm bells for me. I assumed our retention was so good because we probably paid a premium on retaining guys like him. Something seems off on this one.
What do you actually think seems off?

He’s most likely leaving for more money or just a change of scenery for various personal reasons. I don’t think there’s anything too complex about it.

Everything is circumstantial, but I have a hard time believing this is even a smart business decision. What’s the a good safety going to get for a premium on the open market? 5- 700k? I gotta imagine Iowa would give him something close to that. So is it worth 100 maybe 200 K to go somewhere else where they’re going to have no loyalty to you?

Very good take on the situation. Found out his draft numbers aren't high enough to go pro so decided to let his agent try to go find more money. Wherever he ends up, I cannot imagine the coaching to be better than what he had at Iowa.
