Crazy times we're living in. Indiana is the best football team in the country. Nebraska basketball is undefeated and top 10.

Good for him. Most of the BTN talking heads seem to think they'll be struck dead if they even mention a POY candidate other than Braden Smith.
Not much room to go higher. Nebraska beat BYU in an "exhibition" game but it was full on effort by both schools.
That Top 8 is a brutal group.
I think there are 3- 4 teams ahead of Nebraska that they could play with and maybe beat. Then there is Mich Ariz Uconn Duke and Houston. That list likely all makes elite 8. Fortunately Huskers only have to play 1 of those teams before a 16 or 8 game.
As I recall there were a couple of teams on probation that year who couldn't be ranked in the coaches' (UPI) poll - Missouri for one. I believe that's why that Husker team snuck into the UPI top 10 but never in AP.
Lost to Mizzou in the Big 8 Tournament title game but essentially went into the tourney as the Big 8's top team, since Missouri wasn't eligible.

I get the sense the national media isn't buying into Nebraska and are expecting a collapse.
My hope is for a #5 Nebraska (20-0) v #1 Michigan (19-0) game on January 27th.
But for now, I'm enjoying 15-0 and looking forward to the Indiana game.
Huskers are actually getting some pretty good national press. Most of the early bracketologists have them on the #3 line, with a chance of moving up to #2 if they win at Indiana.
Conference title buzz is probably too much to ask for, since Purdue is the ultimate media darling and Michigan is just steamrolling every team in their path.

Hopefully OU and New Mexico win enough to stay at Quad 1. The wins against MSU, OSU, and Illinois are pretty well locked into Q1. Several more opportunities lie ahead, including Saturday at Indiana.
Have to think if they can finish with 5 or less losses they will get a top 4 seed. Any idea when the committee releases their initial top 16 ?
