Sounds like he is expecting an extension. Wow
If that is what he is after, a discretionary rolling one year extension is the only thing that makes sense. At some point you have to turn the f’n page.Sounds like he is expecting an extension. Wow
Lester has HC experience and would be the better hireI said in another post that I could see him bailing ala Stoops in May or June and then Beth would be forced to hire Wallace for at least one season.
I don’t think Goetz is “forced” into any single successor or interim coach. In any event, Lester would be the better in-house pick IMO.I said in another post that I could see him bailing ala Stoops in May or June and then Beth would be forced to hire Wallace for at least one season.
Basketball has been a complete train wreck and the OC situation has proven to be another mistake Beth made.I would not trust beth to change out my toilet paper roll correctly
Why? She is light years ahead of Barta...I would not trust beth to change out my toilet paper roll correctly

Your top 10 reasons are obviously that she's a woman. Any others?I would not trust beth to change out my toilet paper roll correctly
He has a problem with women.Troll alert
NoI agree Lester would be better, Didn't KF make Wallace the Associate HC pretty much saying he is the HC in waiting, without really saying it lol
Uhhhh yes he did. If KF gets his way the next coach will be Wallace
I agree that a new contract with a rolling 1-year extension is the way to go. Say, for every year that KF remains employed as HC on January 10, he will get one year added to his contract. Right now, he’s under contract through 2029 (4 years left). With this proposal, he will always have 4 years left.If that is what he is after, a discretionary rolling one year extension is the only thing that makes sense.
No to extension IMOSounds like he is expecting an extension. Wow
Also, Kirk Ferentz was coaching his 4th year at the University of Iowa when the Chicago Bears won their last Super Bowl 40 years ago.Stfu
I have absolutely no doubt that that was his plan to get BF the interim coaching job. I don't think he would do that now, although I really wouldn't care if he did now.I said in another post that I could see him bailing ala Stoops in May or June and then Beth would be forced to hire Wallace for at least one season.

Uhhhhh no he didn't. And KF is not naming his own successor.Uhhhh yes he did. If KF gets his way the next coach will be Wallace
The thing is, any other savvy head coach has already been using Ferentz' age against him for years. Even with a multi-year extension, it would be very easy to plant the seed of doubt in a young recruit's mind that Ferentz isn't going to be his head coach for the entire time he's at Iowa (among other fodder used to negatively recruit against Iowa).I agree that a new contract with a rolling 1-year extension is the way to go. The thing that is important — that many fans don’t understand — is that with coaching contracts, you never want a guy coaching on the last year of his contract. That screams lame duck to everyone — recruits, assistants, fans, media, etc. You want the contract to promote stability. There is a big difference between player contracts and coaches contracts. Almost no coach coaches until the end of his contract.
Honestly, I think the time is right to talk extension with KF, though I know that will make some fans’ heads spin right off their necks. I think a 1-year rolling extension makes the most sense, as it would keep you from having to revisit the topic in 2-3 years, if KF happens to still be coaching then.
So it was a coincidence that Ferentz named Wallace, and no one else, AHC. Okay...Uhhhhh no he didn't. And KF is not naming his own successor.
Wow, would it be hilarious watching her kick your arse.light years ahead of him as far as women's soccer, yes. not football
Under Barta, I feel Kirk would have named BF his successor after the 2019 season, had he known how everything would go downhill...KF is not naming his own successor.
True, but Iowa can counter with the argument that with almost any other school the guys we are recruiting may choose, there is as much likelihood of that school’s coach getting fired or leaving for another job as there is for KF leaving Iowa. A strong contract helps Iowa’s argument. Leaving KF with only 1 or 2 years left on his contract destroys it.The thing is, any other savvy head coach has already been using Ferentz' age against him for years. what are you even rambling about, she got rid of Ferentz jr and hired McCollum, how is that a badI would not trust beth to change out my toilet paper roll correctly
