    USSSA Baseball Coaching Advice

My son has played in several States in the Southeast and I never saw a USSSA tournament where stealing/leading off was any different than regular baseball. I do realize that some other organizations are different (little league, dixie youth, ect), but to my knowledge all USSSA rules are the same.

    USSSA Baseball Coaching Advice

    1. The level of baseball (AA, AAA and Major) are big factors on all the questions you asked. I am assuming you will be playing AA, since it's your first tournament. As far as pitching goes, if you can throw strikes you will beat a lot of 9 yr old teams. If you have 5-6 pitchers that are...

    MSU Winter Baseball Camps

Wanted to see if anyone had any experience with the Winter camps for kids. My son is in the 5th grade and has been playing pretty competitive for 3 years now. I figured the father son camp might not be as in depth as the other two they offer (all skills camp and hitting camp). Any information...

OT Kids and sports; how much is too much?

Anybody who says they are using travel baseball (8-12 yr old) as an investment in a college scholarship is an idiot. The money it costs to play and travel could more than pay for what little scholarship money they would get. That being said, I doubt there's not one person on States team who...

OT Kids and sports; how much is too much?

My son is 9, plays travel baseball on a team 50 miles away and goes to a couple different states a year playing. My question is about "burnout". When baseball comes up a lot of people give plenty of advice about not burning your kid out. From the people I've met and talked to, it almost seems...

    Travel Ball

I've seen some dads who played their kids over a kid who was about equal or maybe a little better than their son. I've never seen the best player on a team not play. Not saying this didn't happen, but a lot of times parents have a distorted view of their kids talent. Unless the coach is a...

    Travel Ball

I agree with all you said, but I see you mentioned burn out. My son is 9 and plays travel ball, and I hear this a lot with older kids and parents. The problem is, I have yet to find a kid who was one of the top 4-5 players on a competitive team that "burned out". I haven't talked to every...

If you could take a year or so off from responsibility what extreme sport...

Second this. I've been on a few overnight canoe trips on the Ms, but never more than a couple miles. Some of those sand bars and islands can't see more than a handful of people a year.

    Interesting thread on volnation

He's got a better chance of being the next spokesman for Subway than getting hired in college football.

Will there be any movie stars or famous people left in Texas this weekend?

From listening to my Ole Miss buddies, George Bush and Mathew McConaughey are car pooling to Oxford and have several bars rented out.
