Hickman and Teague also won regionals. Teague is undefeated this year and has been crushing guys. I don't think he's hit anyone ranked yet, but he did tech a solid freshman from Gilroy earlier in the season.

Hamiti would be a fantastic get. PSU, Iowa, Michigan, OhioSt, ISU & ASU would probably be the main competition. If Starocci returns, Hamiti could redshirt and go 174 in 2026. And just to be crazy, OSU could wrestle Robb at 184 and redshirt both Plott & Hamiti next year. Then in 2026 you...

Boo had a covid year still available, but chose not to take it and didn't return for 2022. And he did get a medical, but it was for 2019. It was initially rejected because he wrestled 2nd semester, so he had to write a letter explaining the extenuating circumstances. Based on what's being said...

You can get both, sure. But can you get a medical when your regular redshirt is still intact? I think you are saying yes to that as well. But then how come Boo didn't get a medical redshirt for his first year?

Saw that discussed on here, but still not clear if it's an option. I didn't think you could apply for a medical redshirt if your regular redshirt was still available for use. Boo Lewallen missed his entire true freshman year with a broken ankle. He redshirted. The following year he sat behind...

Blair wrecking my plans. I was hoping for this after seeing Travis & Plott up in weight this year. Even better if Travis could fill into 165 (John said he's an average size 157 right now). 133 McComas or portal 141 Hughes 149 Jamison or Young 157 Williams or Travis 165 portal (or Travis) 197...

Merrill has won his last 3 tournaments with all pins. Only one opponent made it to the 2nd period (fall @ 2:09). Here are the finals and semis from a week ago.

    The Coleman factor

Coleman, the new faces in the lineup/room, maybe some training/nutrition/conditioning type changes. All different. But how about the performance (so far) of Plott & Travis wrestling up in weight? Maybe something to look at going forward.

    The Coleman factor

Fair enough I'm not close to the program like you, Blair and some others, so I don't know about any internal issues. I agree the team massively underperformed the last 2 years and looks remarkably better this season. Way ahead of what I was expecting. On the face of it Coleman seems to be a...

    The Coleman factor

Ok, but doesn't it seem like Iowa's overall approach is more taxing? Ramos talks about kill your body 24/7, beating yourself up, wrestle hard, condition hard, etc. Sounds like a JRob camp. In terms of the "vibe" in the room, I have no insight. Hopefully it's not bad. I'm not saying OSU doesn't...

    The Coleman factor

Just sharing the perspective of someone who has seen both sides. Ramos basically says Iowa is the one that overtrains because of all the live wrestling. Here's another way to put it -- saw this on a different forum. When something doesn't work, Iowa says do it harder. OSU says do something...

    The Coleman factor

Tony Ramos discussing Iowa training vs OSU training. Iowa is almost all live goes with very little technique taught. OSU is technique plus a ton of drilling, with some live. Coleman blended elements of both at UNC.
