    Anthony Alford article...

During the 2010 State Games baseball tournament in Meridian, pro baseball scouts said he was a first-round pick in the 2012 draft. Now this was before he hurt the knee in the 2010 football season. Not sure if that has lowered him any or not since he is still playing football pretty good this year.

Petal Panthers rank supreme in 6A! 2 in a row!

Got to see the game today and for a 6-foot-2, 275-pound center on the football team, Cody Conkle is quite a pitcher. Great job Panthers!!!!

Since it's been a hot topic and since nobody wants to talk basketball....

Let's say State went to a bowl this year. Who would the Dogs play? Would it have been the No. 1 team in the nation? No. Would it have been the No. 2 team? No. Would it have even been a ranked team? Questionable. So I'll take a strong regular season and forget any meaningless 13th game.

Cam Newton and Blinn get revenge on #1 Navarro....

They basically try to pair the No. 1 and 2 teams in the NJCAA poll or the highest ranked if those get beat in their state/region playoffs. Yes, Mississippi teams often play for the national title. It's really a hit and miss thing. How do you compare an unbeaten team in Mississippi with one from...

Cam Newton and Blinn get revenge on #1 Navarro....

Looks like Blinn (Texas) vs. Fort Scott (Kan.) for national championship at Copperas Cove. No. 3 Blinn beat No. 1 Navarro 45-34. No. 2 Fort Scott beat Butler County 13-12.

this ref thing may actually work to our favor this weekend.....

Nope. Just getting Bama and Florida to the SEC title game isn't enough. They must assure that both are undefeated if at all possible so that winner gets the BCS title game and the $7 million plus that goes with that and the loser gets the Sugar Bowl and the $7 million plus that goes with that. I...

    I don't believe in a conspiracy theory

Don't you know by now the SEC is making sure the SEC championship game winner HAS to be picked for the national title game? That's a little over $7 million extra for the league as the loser of that game will also play in one of the top four bowls. The key to not getting screwed is to stay...

    No more MPSA...

Haven't seen anyone mention that many of the original private schools now have A-As in their student body. In fact, it's hard to find any now that don't, even in the smaller schools like Wayne Academy, Heidelberg Academy, Sylva-Bay Academy, etc. Could it be because their parents also like the...
