I just spent some time looking over the game stats. I've got to give VPI some props - they were just a little bit better than us in virtually every stat category and it all added up. And their 2 big scorers [Amoore (25) and Kitley (20)] collectively outscored our 2 big scorers [Carr (27) and...
This one is hard to figure. Louisville had the edge in practically all stats but the real difference was right here...
FG: ND: 24/51 (47.1%) UL 20/58 (34.5%)
3 PT ND: 4/10 UL 4/14
That reminds me something a guy named Denny *** once said..."FG % is the most important stat...
Does Payne really know what to do as collegiate Head Basketball Coach? Does he know how to "build a program"?
He spent 5 years as an OR assistant under I don't know who. But how much did he learn about coaching?
He then spent 11 years as an assistant to Calipari at UK. Again I ask: "How...
I gotta agree with this. Payne's only real coaching experience was in the years he sat next to Cal. Professionally, I'm not sure what those years were worth. I think we all agree Cal's basketball success is/was all about enormously talented players.

4-2-5 or 3-3-5? The common denominator here is the 5. But how do you arrange your front if you use 5 DBs? There are basically only 2 choices: 4-2 or 3-3.
Naturally thy are both good with good players but I personally prefer the 4-2-5. I think you can play that with a "smaller" front but...
Probably.
The losses to BC and 'Cuse (even though they have done quite well since torching us) put me in "Show Me" mode. Wake Forrest win helped but I'm still there. I need to see at least a 2-2 finish

I agree. I don't know what has gone on in practice but the game day defense seems to have improved since some "sideline decisions" a few weeks back.
But I am still concerned about our offense. I just can't "put my finger on it".
