After last night's games, I'm pretty sure this will be the final seedings. Middlesex travels to Nandua on Monday but I don't think it will affect the seeds.
1. Lancaster
2. Middlesex
3. Northampton
4. Westmoreland
5. Northumberland
6. Charles City
7. Chincoteague
8. Colonial Beach...
Power Points are only used in seeding the regional tournament for basketball not the state tournament. The state tournament brackets are already set based on how teams do in regional tournament. For example, this year Region 1A champ hosts Region B runner up and vice versa for quarterfinals...
No offense but I don't remember anyone complaining last year when you guys played both the quarterfinals and semifinals in your own gym. If Altavista would've beat Westmoreland last year then they would have traveled 4 hours to play in your gym. It's their turn to host.
Lancaster still wins...
Troy Henderson (Lancaster) and Ichi Layne (Middlesex) put on a show in that game. Tyson Henderson scored his 1000th point. The gym was packed, fans got along, and both teams competed at a high level. The better team won.
They had reclassed before entering high school so everything is legit. There aren't too many people across all levels that shoot it as well as Troy does. It's not just that he's going to make 100 3s this year, his shooting percentage from that range is well over 40%.
1st team tidewater -
POY - Cade McCulloch West Point Senior
Ichi Layne - West Point Soph
Malachi Revels Carver Senior
Jeremiah Nevers Carver Junior
Malik Holmes KQ Junior
Tre Robinson King WIlliam Junior
Kavontay Hayes King William Senior
Malachi Dandy Middlesex Senior
West Point won 66-40. Cade McCulloch led the way with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks. Elijah Adkins also had 15 points.
For the region standings - I think Lancaster has sewn up the #1 seed and barring something crazy Washington and Lee should be the number 2 seed.
