***DUKE VS MICHIGAN STATE OFFICIAL GAMEDAY THREAD***

MSU isn’t incredibly experienced. Winston - Soph Langford - Soph Bridges - Soph Jackson - Frosh Ward - Soph

    So let's talk MSU.

Main reason for that was all of the youth and the complete absence of any size outside of a true freshman Ward. They only had one guy (Ward) taller than 6’7” on the roster.

    So let's talk MSU.

The difference i see is this: Izzo has no problem playing 10+ deep into his roster and does so frequently, especially in big games. On the flip, K does not like to do so and in turn he rarely does.

    So let's talk MSU.

This ain’t your typical MSU team either. No one has ever seen two lottery picks on a Tom Izzo coached team. And Nick Ward is an beast of a talent as well. Reminds me of Caleb Swanigan. Should be a fun team for Duke to match up with. I still say Duke’s best chance of winning is to get MSU’s...

    So let's talk MSU.

MSU’s weakness is defensively at PG. Winston is an elite offensive player but he is slow footed defensively. Take the ball at him every chance you get. Get him into foul trouble and Duke’s chances of winning increase exponentially with zero offense 5’8” Tum Tum Nairn Jr on the floor. MSU’s...

Skal not being what we thought.

Remember Cal flying a helicopter to recruit 5 star Adreian Payne? Had Payne gone to Kentucky and been thrown into the fire like Skal has this season, the exact same disappointing result would've transpired, he would've been labeled a bust and people would be pushing for him being run off the...

    What happens when recruiting whiffs

What the hell. Run off players who didn't light the world on fire as true freshmen? What kind of low character coach would ever do that? Hopefully not Cal. You know, some very good players just need a year or two to come into their own. Not every 5 star recruit is a one or two and done type player.

    we would beat Michigan State

When has a Tom Izzo team EVER hit their ceiling in January or February, let alone in December? Have you had your head in the sand for his entire career? Eron Harris was a 17 ppg scorer and 42% 3pt shooter as a sophomore at West Virginia before he transferred to MSU and had to sit out full year...

    We are freakin' great

Keep in mind that MSU is out with (likely) their starting junior center. An athletic 6'9" 235 lb'er who put up good numbers against pros over the summer in Italy. The return of Schilling will help their team considerably. Right now Izzo is forced to play a couple of walk-ons in the frontcourt...

    ACC-Big10 Challenge

MSU only has two scholarship bigs taller than 6'8" available tonight. Getting one of those two in foul trouble is key.

    Let's talk Michigan St.

If MSU's bigs get into foul trouble, with Schilling out, it could be a long night for MSU. Davis is definitely going to play a lot tonight. He's only been averaging around 18 a game so far this season but that might jump up a few tonight.

    Let's talk Michigan St.

Michigan State isn't a very big team at this point in the season with their starting center, Gavin Schilling, still out with turf toe. So Louisville's size could definitely give them fits. Right now MSU starts: PG. Lourawls Tum Tum Nairn Jr, 5'10" SG. Bryn Forbes, 6'3" PF. (Point Forward)...
