Is it time to stop disliking Calipari and wish him well

When he was hired UK needed "Jimmy's and Joes". Cal provided that. Times were good. With Cal and top recruiting classes there was always "hope" that he would recruit enough talent to mask his shortcomings. College sports changed..Cal didn't. Good move for all parties no matter how it went down.

    The excitement is back

Didnt this used to be Cats Pause? When I first joined this was a chatroom. I'm not sure how things evolved but I remember finding the site in Cats Pause magazine.

So who is the mystery recruit?

Back when the offense was fast paste!😁

    Matt Doherty

The NIL is between the player and who/what that player chooses to endorse. Its the sale of his or her likeness not the University or the coach. That's why there are companies set up to handle this and keep track. That's why players hire agents to handle their NIL contracts. Hell with Cal and...

He probably won't be Kenny Payne bad, but

Times have changed, NIL controls recruiting and the UK brand recruits itself too. A lot of talent in the portal looking for a bigger stage and UK is the biggest stage. Recruits shouldn't be a problem. Pope needs to hire some quality assistants and show some solid Xs and Os and he should do well...

    Go get Pearl

Pearl should have been the first choice.

Notre Dame to the SEC..... What?

Not a ND fan by any means but when your playing UGA or BAMA or BOTH naturally your sos is going to high. I mean, that's almost a guaranteed loss home or road. Everybody else in the SEC can be beat. UK should go 10-2 or at least 9-3. I wouldn't want to be ND. There strength is their weakness...

The ballsiest stunt the SEC could pull

Fox pays the B10 more than ESPN pays the SEC. Why would any B10 team leave that deal? ESPN pays the SEC and ACC. The SEC isn't going to go against ESPN and ruin the ACC when it don't have to. The only way the SEC adds an ACC team is if ESPN says to. The only way that happens is if the ACC gets...

Notre Dame to the SEC..... What?

How does an independ have an OOC schedule? All of this is useless because ND isn't joining the SEC anyway. If they did join a conference it would be the B10.

Notre Dame to the SEC..... What?

UNC, NCST and Duke are interwoven in the Research Triangle. It's going to take alot of political and business negotiations to separate these three. I haven't seen any mention of AAU here either. If you follow B10 they are almost all AAU members. When they expand I think they prioritize that...

ACC still looking at picking up more teams

Desperation. Where else are they gonna go? On top of signing the GOR they were willing to take partial revenue payouts for several yrs. I think SMU said zero revenue for first 4-5 years.

Notre Dame to the SEC..... What?

VT checks all of the boxes, brings the most consistency and offers the least amount of risk. The fans are SEC culture but I'm not so sure about the VT brass. If VT landed in the SEC the football team would have to drag the AD kicking and screaming.

ACC still looking at picking up more teams

ESPN trying to open new markets for the ACC network in California and Texas. Generate new revenue to close the payout gap between the SEC and ACC so nobody wants to leave the ACC. ND pushing for it because they know if the ACC folds no other conference is dumb enough to let them be a voting...

    If Cal left for UCLA

A shooter, a better record and no knee and half of these posts wouldnt exist. I'm old enough to remember Tubby ball, waiting on 3star in state recruits to develope and up and coming head coaching hires drinking themselves half to death under the pressure that is UK basketball.

    Take heed fellow Cat fans

Wouldn't be Suprised to see Duke split with UVA or lose to some other scrappy defensive teams. There is a big drop off in talent after their top 3 freshmen and the target is now on their backs. We gave them open shots and lanes all night and seldom pressured the ball. We played McDonald AA game...
