I don’t think any of us know how many scholarship players we have for next year. If she really wanted to stay she could have agreed to give up her scholarship and be a walk-on.
This is the harsh reality of a new coach, the portal and NIL. It’s a business. A new coach needs players that fit his system. You have to take emotions out of it.
As an example, South Carolina was a bottom tier WBB program for years. They decided to invest in Dawn Staley and look where they are now. Barnhart consistently chooses to hire lesser known coaches in hopes that they’ll work out. Why not shoot for something higher?

I have zero confidence that Mitch will interview any well known coaches. After Demoss left there were several highly regarded coaches interested in the jobs & he didn’t even interview them.
Until Barnhart gets serious about WBB this will continue. We had big name coaches that wanted the job after the DeMoss fiasco. He wouldn’t interview them and hired Mitchell. While Mitchell had some success you could tell he couldn’t take the program to a consistent high level program. Elzy...
