Unfortunately I don’t see him getting this program back on track. He probably is what he’s been for his entire coaching career and that’s an average coach who doesn’t get top talent and belongs at a lower tier school. Pains me to say that but we are a long way from being an elite program right now.
A couple final 4’s and a lot of tourney wins is what that’s gotten them, not really something to sneeze at. Probably should have won one, but the results clearly show their conference doesn’t hurt them and they don’t “go out early” like you stated.
They have the most tournament wins over the last 10 ncaa tournaments leading into this one. And 3rd most over the last 5 years. Not sure how you equate that to not being prepared for the tourney.
