    Clinton Maroons Cancel Varsity Season

Just about all of Christian and Shelby County would turn out for that (and even a decent amount from surrounding counties as well).

    Clinton Maroons Cancel Varsity Season

A&M/OV @ Pana week 8 would be awesome - 2 solid programs with great coaches.

Biggest Surprises & Disappointments week 1

Yes, Meridian's schedule has some tough ones - I expect they'll be in the 8 man playoffs again though. Nice seeing CGB looking good. They were a consistent playoff team in 11 man back in the day, crazy how times change. Hope things go well for the Broncos this season!

Biggest Surprises & Disappointments week 1

Looking forward to seeing more from this Raider team! Tough schedule as the season goes on but there are some "mark your calendar" type games coming up.

Biggest Surprises & Disappointments week 1

Moweaqua's got a nice golf course for a small town. Played there many times, still do on occasion. Best part about Moweaqua though is the atmosphere for home football games, especially come playoff time. Hope the Raiders can get back to that this season - I got to witness that playoff atmosphere...

Biggest Surprises & Disappointments week 1

haha all good! Most of the small towns around here are about the same! Macon Meridian supposed to be decent in 8 man this year so I've heard

Biggest Surprises & Disappointments week 1

Lol the kids for A&M/OV are all from Assumption, Moweaqua, Findlay, and Bethany - not too different than Blue Mound and Boody though

Biggest Surprises & Disappointments week 1

Biggest surprise - Central A&M/Okaw Valley 33 - Deer Creek Mackinaw 6. A&M/OV's new defense looked impressive with defensive tackle Collin Reed having not 1 but 2 interceptions. A&M/OV's freshman QB, Jett Evans shined in his first varsity start, throwing for 300 yards and 3 TD's. A&M/OV with a...

Who is Your Teams Biggest Rival?

A&M and Tuscola used to have a really solid rivalry about 15 to 16 years ago. Throw in St. Teresa and Maroa Forsyth as well. All 4 were considered rivals with each other in some capacity. Now with the conference shifts, A&M/O-V's rival is probably Warrensburg Latham or Shelbyville since those...

    Sangamo Conference

Neither one of these teams are "my team" but I look forward to watching Williamsville vs Maroa Forsyth every year! Really great representation of small school ball in central IL.

What Year(s) Was IHSA Football at its Peak?

100% a lot of good ball in the central part of the state from the 90's through the early 2010's!

With the season 2 weeks away what teams do you miss?

Not necessarily one team that I miss but I do miss the old Okaw Valley Conference with the black and blue divisions. Included teams like Tolono Unity, St. Teresa, Central A&M, Tuscola, Maroa Forsyth, Monticello, Shelbyville, Sullivan, Warrensburg-Latham, Meridian, Argenta-Oreana, and Clinton.

What Year(s) Was IHSA Football at its Peak?

2009 - 2013 was a great time for IHSA football, especially in central Illinois. Some competitive conferences and really good football memories in jr. high and high school.

Litchfield Will Not Play Varsity FB in '26

Will be interesting to see if that comes to fruition. Could be a good playoff tune up game for Coach Ramsey and the Panthers but that close to the post season, the injury risk becomes real. I'm thinking Pana's floor during the regular season is 6-3 and the ceiling is 8-1/9-0 depending on what...
