    GW beat number 1 seed Brooke Pointe in the first round. Wilson caught a wheel route with 2 minutes left. BP defender slid off him and he went all the way.

    Petersburg City is soon going to have more cash and economic development when the casino opens. Cash will be flowing off of I95. Just look at Danville.

    I would put Glass in front of MC. MC had a lot of seniors last year. 4D is usually tight between seven and ten.

    CCPS has ten high schools with the new western one in the permitting and design process. That will make a full ten game schedule. Chesterfield is the fastest growing locality in VA. In time, it will dominate the area.

    One of the stars from GW’s 1982 state championship team, Mike Brim was killed in a shootout in Forest Hills park in 2005. He played 8 years in the NFL. When we lived in Chesterfield Village, the Southside strangler murdered a girl about yards from where we were sleeping one Saturday night.

    I moved to Richmond in 1985. The crack wars of late 80's early 90' pushed the murder rate higher than it is now. West Broad and Grace west of Belvidere were simply vile places. There was a large homeless encampment in Scott's Addition.

    I never thought GW would ever have the facilities they do now. The City's finances were so bad around 2006 they would not let Coach Newell get new game pants. The Casino does print money.

    Funding for High School Sports

    Should not. HS sports are funded by the gate (mostly football) and additional local money. Coaches supplements are usually a school oard funding. Many system allocate additional money. Don't forget what the fan clubs and athletes raise.

    GW at Reidsville

    I don't remember GW playing the Lions in the regular season in basketball. Maybe in the holiday tourneys. They were in our Jr Hi conference. Would be a good gate esp with the new gym.
