    I've been using the same Toro CCR2000 for about 27 years now. Back then they had the old Suzuki engines. Light enough for the spouse to use.

    Driving from east to west you will crest a hill and the road angles slightly to the left (south). Since the crash sight is on the south side of the road it looks like the driver overcorrected. At 90 mph I would think the car would be a little airborne also.

    I would go for a medium or medium light power rod that's 6 ft long. St. Croix Triumph series will cost $100, their made in USA version will cost around $200 or more. I think any major brand reel in the $60 range will do. My rule off thumb is 1/3 of the total combo cost is for the reel, 2/3rds...
