    Why are some school's rosters still using "redshirt" in their rosters?

    Including PSU. I did a quick search of some of the other top teams and only Alabama does not use "redshirt" to designate the class of a player. All 'Bama players are plain-old Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior, with 5th year players listed as "5th". Notre Dame apparently doesn't have any...
