Awesome Jewel Heist at the Louvre

I agree, the Louvre is the most infuriating museum in the world. The whole place is horribly overcrowded and the entrances are poorly designed and very inefficient. 90% of it is just Mona Lisa tourists. The French president has announced she'll be moved to another location which will help. I...

Awesome Jewel Heist at the Louvre

If you've ever been to the Louvre, the size of it is mind-boggling. The main palace (not counting the modern addition) is 2.6 million square feet. Bigger than Versailles, bigger than Esterhazy Palace. The only museum in the world that's bigger is the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. The Louvre is...

    Bright Spot

The team really should take it 1 game at a time. Their record at the end of the year is going to be ugly, highly likely to be a losing season, so don't worry about the season. Just hope for success in each game. I think this team will probably lose most or the remaining games but they may not...

    Bright Spot

I was thinking about the players, how painful it is for them to give up their dreams of another playoff run. But this is life. A lot of the most valuable experiences in life involve some pain. You don't want to go through pain but sometimes 20 years later you look back and you're glad you had...

Joel Klatt gives 4 names for PSU HC

I think it's a top 8 job. The structural advantages -- location, financial base, stadium and fan support -- make it a top 8 job imho. Franklin recruited well while he was recovering from sanctions, but he hit a ceiling - he got 4 stars but not 5 stars. PSU's offense was never in the same class...

Joel Klatt gives 4 names for PSU HC

Wonder what Bill-O is doing these days. Seriously, PSU's never had a HC who was an offensive genius other than the brief time with Bill-O. How about young Jerry Neuheisel. Good offensive mind, players love him, I bet he'd be a fantastic recruiter at PSU.

How in any universe was Penn State...

The people who do the rankings really don't know the teams very well. People who really watch PSU football closely (I think John Sauber is one) I think identified DT, DE and linebacker as potential depth problems. But I don't think anyone would have foreseen that OL would be such a mess. It just...

WE ARE - AP number 28

Plus the team has real actual problems on offense (the OL, contrary to expectations, just isn't stable and not playing well) and defense (a player short at LB, DE and DT right now). I think the losses the last two weeks have to be laid at the feet of the coaches, but there are real personnel...

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!! Birds - Broncos game thread

It's been that way for a couple years now. I wonder if Sirianni has made a calculation that it's safer to get those yards on offense -- not work the risk of turnover on the punt return. They won't return unless there is clearly room.

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!! Birds - Broncos game thread

Jalen Hurts is so sharp today. Such a pleasure to watch a master at work. Making every read, making great decisions. Not taking any chances and throwing the ball perfectly every single time. The TD to Barkley was an audible at the line according to Romo. Eagles aren't trying to force the run...

WE ARE - AP number 28

PSU hasn't demonstrated they're a top 25 team. They could be in danger against Northwestern this week. They're in very serious danger at Iowa City. Here's where we see if Franklin's psychology degree comes in handy because has to work some magic with these kids. They're not going to be a playoff...

In hindsight, the worst thing that happened . . .

It's more complicated than that. Of course Oregon was a crushing loss. Plus the D was physically exhausted having to be on the field for just about the whole game against a physical Oregon team. When players are physically worn out they don't tackle. And then you combine it with a quick and...

Best Analysis I've seen so far on what's wrong with Allar

He has no confidence. The protection's been erratic but even when he has a good pocket he's jumping around, uncomfortable. He doesn't anticipate routes, can't release fast, so he holds the ball and by 3-4 seconds he's got pressure. If he were able to release the ball at 2 seconds the pressure...

    Just Stop Already!

It was a lot of Dayle Tate out there with some John Sacca mixed in.

Receivers weren't the problem last year either -- maybe it's easier for people to see that now. If you don't have a QB who can locate the ball with any consistency, it doesn't really matter about the receivers, you're not going to have a passing game.
