    1 Foul on Mirk?!,!, F U Refs!!!

It was a game of men against boys. Literally. First there are at least 5 players on Illinois who have played professionally in Europe. Second, their average age is over 21. They have 4 players over 22 years of age and 7 players total over 21. The NCAA needs to do something about this, and if not...

    Shocker the refs were terrible

For those of you saying that referees didn't make a difference, I beg to differ. If you know anything about the game, this would never cross your lips. First there are documented instances of games being fixed by refs. Heck, some even went to prison. Second, if there is a noticeable way the game...

    Trey Thompson

I did too but then I realized I was thinking of Matt Gatens.

Where does this S16 game rank?

This is a recency biased list. Where is Dan Gables first Wrestling title and don't tell me that wrestling doesn't matter. It matters just as much as women's basketball. Just saying.

    How about Ben’s

The automatic review must still exist at least for some things. The Referees literally stopped the game with 4 seconds left to review how much time was on the clock. Talk about a game buster. Gave Florida time to set up a play. They need to change that rule in the last minute of the game, and...

Why can players lift their pivot foot and still take steps now?

I know they changed the rule, but I swear that the refs have decided that palming doesn't exist anymore. I would guess that at least a quarter of the great moves raved about by the commentators are still palming even under the current rule.

"Really good is not acceptable." - The New Standard in Iowa City

Nope. I can assure you that's not true. People in professional sports tend to get paid based on where they finish in a competition. Take Golf for instance. Finish first, make a million. Finish second make $450K. Finish last. Maje $3,234. Big. Big difference there. It's the same for almost every...

    FT discrepancies in Iowa games

Statistics say otherwise. Iowa is right in the middle of the Big Ten when it comes to 3 point attempts. They also took 1000 or so 2 point shots vs 600 or so 3 point shots. The theory doesn't hold up.

    Ranking B1G Head Coaches

Your argument is he won a national title a year ago, so he is better. Thus, following your logic, if he hadn't won that title, he wouldn't be ranked above KF. I look at his national title as an inditement on his inability to coach. He has had equal or better talent in his 7 years at OSU. His not...

Tory Taylor & Reggie Roby are the AP's All-Time Top 2 Punters (over last 100 years)

Hmmm. Someone didn't read the article. It states that "PUNTERS" were not including in the All-American category until 1981. Guy played prior to that and was never officially an All American. Thus, he wasn't eligible.

    Sage and Howard should start

Not only is he soft, when it's crunch time he doesn't shoot. He's weak off the dribble and loses the ball to easily by dribbling into a crowd with no real idea of what he is doing. Also is kind of chippy around the basket and not great a rebounder.

Fred Hoiberg on the hostile environment aka Carver Hawkeye Arena

Have to disagree. The kid was at least 2 feet away if not more. Fred was wrong, and the school was wrong for apologizing. If this had happened on the street, I truly believe Fred could be charged with assault. The kid did not appear to be threatening him and once again, he was not up in his...

Brutal to Watch Ben's One Dimensional Offense

Wow. Not much self awareness here. Your post could be constructed to be doing precisely the same thing, as well as berating someone for exercising their constitutional right to speak freely by exerting your standards on another's speech. Just saying.
