    Overtime Elite didn't do him any favors preparing him for college. I know we need retention and he does have potential, but he's got a lot of stuff to work on. Bringing him back and relying on him for guard depth would've been a big gamble, imo.

    SMU isn't afraid to spend money and Pate's from Dallas. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up there.

    Alabama doesn't defend well. And Hurley has said that teaching great offense to defensive-only players is an "impossible task" and focuses on high-level scorers who can be taught to play tough defense. I do agree Pope and staff need to evaluate players better.
