Anyone have any idea what time the CU game will kickoff?

The conference normally announces the schedule for the first three weeks in late May so we'll know this kickoff time (and SDSU) soon. Last year the first three weeks were announced on May 29. But as of right now we have absolutely no idea.

So Finally a BIG National Champ in Basketball

I don't see the players as slaves or chattel or anything else, as you say they entered into a mutually beneficial transaction and received compensation in the form of scholarships etc. But the benefits to the schools FAR outweighed the benefits to the athletes in the revenue sports. The thing...

So Finally a BIG National Champ in Basketball

This isn't some bizarre reading of history, it's a matter of record. College athletics didn't start out rooted in amateurism, the idea was introduced decades later to stop players from making money. After they successfully redefined players as amateurs, the NCAA then spent many years in the...

The day after: Assessing Northwestern basketball's mass exodus

I don't think this is paranoid or anything. Collins is under contract through 2030 and he's making over $3M/year, so it is highly unlikely he'll lose his job barring some sort of embarrassment. (He could always take another job, of course, but he's shown no interest in doing so.) As a result, I...

So Finally a BIG National Champ in Basketball

College revenue athletics was only sustainable as long as everyone agreed to pretend that the players were all true amateurs doing it for the love of the game, even though that was obviously, laughably untrue from the start. Now that we treat the players as what they are - assets in a...

So Finally a BIG National Champ in Basketball

The same programs dominating is not a new thing. Since 1996, seven programs (UConn, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, and Villanova) have won over 70% of the national championships by themselves.

Story: Tre Singleton to the portal

He plays a different position, too, but "elite defender and decent scorer" feels like Singleton's ceiling and that's basically Audige, even if Audige was more athletic. My point is this isn't like losing Buie or Martinelli, but Singleton is still a guy that could have had a LOT of value as he...

Story: Tre Singleton to the portal

I mean you're basically describing Chase Audige and I would gladly take him back.

Story: Tre Singleton to the portal

Singleton struck me as a player with top-flight defensive potential who needed to work on his shooting, especially from the perimeter. If he becomes a decent scorer and an all-conference caliber defender that's a hugely valuable player even if not a "star" in the conventional sense.

Story: Tre Singleton to the portal

I know NU isn't spending at the top of the conference but it's not like they don't spend money at all, and Singleton was the potential face of the program going forward. Do we even know that this is over money?

Story: Tre Singleton to the portal

I like Collins a lot but his seat definitely just got warmer. He can cool it off with a good portal performance but this is potentially catastrophic.

Vince Vaughn breaks down Otto Graham’s and George Halas’s histories on podcast

The Cardinals were founded as an independent professional team before the Bears were, but both the Cardinals and Bears (then the Decatur Staleys) were charter members of the original NFL (then the APFA) starting in 1920. They are the only charter members left.
