She needs to eat most of her cals earlier in the day. I know its very cliche, but breakfast really is the most important meal of the day.

I have read that the obstacles are not what gets you, its the running plus the obstacles (obviously).
From what I have read the best training would be to be in good enough shape to run about 5 miles.
The obstacles themselves don't require superhuman strength to complete I don't think.
