    Basketball Coaching changes

Not every class D school is inefficient. I run a family business that pays property taxes in 2 districts. One is C1 and the other is D2. The total levy in the D2 district is 33% lower

    Basketball Coaching changes

It was a vey low key retirement. The players were told at the beginning of the season so the community knew, but it was never officially announced or anything

    D1 and D2 basketball

I think we have to be very careful in assuming that larger districts are more efficient than smaller ones or that all schools within 15 miles of each other would be better served to consolidate. I’m affiliated with an entity that pays taxes in 2 school districts and the class D school district...

    D1 and D2 basketball

While the top of D1 and D2 may be pretty even, the difference between an average D1 team and an average D2 team can be pretty significant. Besides, if both classes are supplying quality fields, why would the NSAA want to decrease their revenue by reducing the size of the state tournament?

Basketball Boys State Tournament Team Breakdown

Pretty much the norm since they’ve went to the new format. If you include Kearney and the schools pretty much on a straight line with it (this includes Kearney, Kearney Catholic, Pleasanton, and Burwell), you have 9 in 2019, 10 in 2020, and 9 in 2021. D1 is the best represented class with 11...

Other Sports Uploading past game film to YouTube

Not only was the quality of the old 8mm home movies incredible, but also the film never really degraded. My mom had home movies of a vacation she had as a kid in the late 40’s and we watched them 40 years later. As a history buff it has always perplexed me that it took almost a half century...

    Basketball Great postseason basketball idea

To me, this is the downside of having gender only classifications in Class D. Hitchcock has 41 boys and 24 girls for classification. In the old format they would be at 65 which I think would have been a solid D1 probably year in, year out. (The cutoff was usually around 70 I think). Class D1...

    Basketball Girls Sub-District Pairings Released

I’ve always wondered why, with a few exceptions (ie, South Platte girls), class D basketball programs in the panhandle have struggled more lately than the D programs in west central Nebraska. The population situation in the Sandhills and the “Hi-Line” area is about the same as the panhandle yet...

    8 man cutoff

It’s ironic that when programs that are struggling are faced with this decision, they have a tendency to opt down and become ineligible. When they do their usually have more success and they’re participation usually goes up. After that, they begin to face criticism for being prideful and selfish...

    Week 2 Lines

Your decade long won streak theory not only played out in the Wallace-South Platte game (Wallace by 20), it played out in the Paxton-Creek Valley game too (Paxton by 10).
