    IC Expansion?

No apparent talk of a on campus football stadium (😊) but looks like IC is indeed expanding into the adjacent Methodist Church site. I had brought this up semi jokingly in season, but can't remember thread now. Wonder how this impacts their enrollment and athletics though...

    Youth Sports…

And with all that cost investment it forces families and kids into early specialization. Many kids will get burnt out when it's been all travel by age 8. Keeping my kids out of travel as long as I can. We'll let them do some summer skills camps, but play house leagues as long as we can, and as...

    Catholic School Decision Letters

I recall seeing a social media post from Naz about mailing out letters a few weeks ago, yea. Edit - January 9th according to their Facebook page.

    CCL conference realignments are in.....

That conference largely seems like a good grouping. Is there a perceived need for them to shake up?

    The Playoff Expansion Bylaw PASSED!

Funniest possible outcome is the race for 5 becomes race for 8 (or whatever would generally get a bye).

    The Playoff Expansion Bylaw PASSED!

Eh even in the context of adding more football, there's something in the neighborhood of 2,500 games played invovling IL teams each year. This adds 128. So about a 5% increase in games. It's a long season as is. Those few extra games aren't make or break meaningful. And it's not why it's...

    The Playoff Expansion Bylaw PASSED!

Yep it's not gonna be as simple as everyone trading equivalent non-con weeks. And it can easily snowball once teams have to start dropping. Luckily I don't think this is like ncaa with 4+ year out contracts. Hopefully it's just a reshuffle for one year.

    The Playoff Expansion Bylaw PASSED!

They'll never go down from 8. They can always structure the byes however they want to make 8 work.

    The Playoff Expansion Bylaw PASSED!

Soucie already claiming we're losing non con matchups. Its possible many will be saved on the basis of both teams moving the date, but it's possible there are scheduling conflicts that are date sensitive that will cause some disruption, at least for next year. Edit, more:

    The Playoff Expansion Bylaw PASSED!

It's better, but in theory different schools have different conference obligations. And depending on what was agreed to, one school may want to keep a game the other can't. Probably worst for any independent who may rely on scheduling at least some late games against odd-numbered conference teams.

    The Playoff Expansion Bylaw PASSED!

I hadn't thought of this, but it's pretty interesting. If you have an out of state (or any non-con) contract that was formerly week 2, and that date is now week 3 conference play (because entire calendar was shifted up) you have to cancel a contract and now reschedule. Hopefully most contracts...

    Testing Numbers

I think this is a bit of a selection bias going on here. The examples are the ones who have overcome or at least mitigated the challenge, but that doesn't erase that it's there. You don't see ones who lose the struggle (they've lost individual programs they can't support or close down altogether)
