    He didn’t beat my butt. I was one of those singing his praises when he was hired. I just use him as an example of how a bad coaches market can force your hand as a school no matter how elite they are.

    I guess I was. How excited were you when we announced Billy Gillespie as our new HC? Was he considered elite at the time? Look...I just think there’s a large gap between fan expectations and reality when it comes to coaching hires.

    I’ll make sure to pass that along with a smile, but you seem to forget the we hired Billy Gillespie! We can chalk that up as an outlier, but It happened. So, to make such a blanket statement that Mack wouldn’t even be on our list seems nonsensical.
