OT: Favorite rock lyrical couplets, 2 lines max. What you like?

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to so that when they turn their backs on you you'll get the chance to stick the knife in The Cuervo Gold, the fine Columbian Make tonight a wonderful thing I'll say it again... Ten years ago, I walked these streets my dream were riding tall...

    Best Ski Beers/Bars

2 things: 1) I have family in Tahoe so when we go there we usually end up at the River Ranch at the beginning of the Alpine Meadows access road from CA 89 so I have not had a beer at Squaw in a long time (and yes it is still Squaw Valley USA - at least to me). 2) Parking lot beers are also great...

What was the one dive (maybe Garfinkel's) in Lion's Head for the longest time? I think it closed like 4 years ago?

There is no doubt that Steamboat has changed and I have skied there since 98 but so has every Colorado (should not limit that to CO - every ski resort) resort. A-Basin was 600 acres in the 90's now... I hope you still enjoy some turns!

    Best Ski Beers/Bars

Ok so there is a thread asking everyone for their favorite bar and there is a thread about the upcoming ski season/snow storm we just had in the high country of Colorado. So I thought I would start this thread about two of my favorite subjects on earth: beer drinking and skiing. So my question...

OT: What was your favorite bar that you frequented, and frequented, and frequented over your lifetime...

Aces Hi in Golden is still a great place - for the people with friends in low places. If you are ever in Durango CO go to the Roadhouse (there is a name associated with it but I forget it) anyway - don't get the Purple ****** even though the bar is the Home of the Purple ******. Grandfathered in...

I also turned 21 in 1993 - at one point in my senior year I knew how many steps it took to get from my apartment front door to Zeno's. There were also times that I would be knocking on the door at 11:30AM tapping my watch like WTF why is the door still locked :) and finally, there were also some...

80 years ago today... The big BOOM that changed the world

I actually may have picked up this book because of your recommendation - there was a thread on this site a while back that was about books people were reading or have read - I think that is where I first heard of this book - if I did read this because of you - I want to say thank you - it was...

80 years ago today... The big BOOM that changed the world

Agreed - this a great book/read - it does get into the science maybe a bit too much but a great look at the project.

OT: Please share any vegetable garden tips.

Since it seems like a significant portion of this thread has turned into tomatoes and peppers. I will ask one question: do you eat bananas? If the answer is yes, then stop throwing away the peels and instead put the banana peels in water for no more than 2 days. The potassium in the peels will...

    Living in Europe

So, this is a topic that I have looked into a lot. First off, married, both 52 (will both turn 53 in the next two months), no kids, and our respective parents are all still alive which is the main reason we still live in the US. We don't want to be 24 hours away when something inevitably happens...

You get to be a sports person on one day in sports history, who are you choosing to be? Don Larsen? Wilt 100?

Maybe off the wall a bit - at least as far as most responses for this will go - but I would choose to be Darren Rahlves on January 25, 2003 or Bill Johnson on February 16, 1984. Darren wins the Hahnenkamm downhill in Kitzbühel Austria (only the 2nd American man to win this race the other being...
