    S. Payne to New Mexico State

Again: not at his position, which is strictly center.

    S. Payne to New Mexico State

I doubt it, but when Holloway and his staff worked on building this roster, it was with the belief that these guys would have exhausted their eligibility, so there are no spots left for him on our roster now (at least at his position; he cannot play the 4). So you go where you can.

Exclusive: Urban Outfitters launches its first back-to-campus commercial

I played a round of golf with one of the founders, Scott Belair, abut 8 or 10 years ago. Good guy, or at least he was that day. A little gruff, but dry-funny.

    OT: Caribbean Vacation

You can imagine that this is even less of an enticement to me! (Although my lovely wife is a Rutgers alumna.)

OT: 35th Anniversary for one of the greatest albums of all-time

Yeah, I think that's a fair read. In my own case, it just took them too far from what I enjoyed about Metallica, whose sound was innovative and unique in the earlier years. Then again, there are very few bands whose later sounds I enjoy more then their first few albums. I'm trying to think of...

    OT: Caribbean Vacation

In my observation, Aruba seems to inspire that kind of loyalty more than any other destination I've heard of. I know so many people who go every single year over a long period of time. I was excited to go in April. We spent a week on Eagle Beach (supposedly a top-five beach in the world), at...

OT: 35th Anniversary for one of the greatest albums of all-time

I'm sure a majority of folks would agree with you, at least as far as this being a favorite Metallica album, but to me, this was their jump-the-shark record. I didn't like the new direction at all. Of course, they did not consult me prior to its recording or release, and so it goes...

Why Did Rutgers Have to Rutgers?

One anecdotal data point: My niece is enrolled at Rutgers for the fall. Coming from what I'd call an average Somerset County town. Didn't cast a wide net of applications; N.C. State was the real outlier, but otherwise, Delaware was the furthest location. I think her final three were, in order of...

    Greg Tufaro RIP

I'm sure that was a tough one for Jerry to write.

Oh my God. Was he sick?

    More from Jerry

The media relations person would consult/advise with the president. He would be counseled but the decision is his. I worked in this capacity for years.

It sounds like you've made a composite of all the Friends of Danny who post here. I don't recall ever believing or posting that he would never take a Seton Hall player, though I suppose some have said as much. In any case, there is a pretty wide gulf between the character of Quick Rick and Dan...

The "Quick Rick" bit is a sustained effort to keep fresh the idea that this league has a deplorable, incorrigible sleazebag in its ranks, and that should not be forgotten. He would slash our throats to gain a nickel's worth of advantage, but his moral transgressions are extraordinary, too. The...

    Charlotte (likely) at the Palestra

Here is everyone's assurance that this is indeed a thoughtful course of action.
