Vol fan from the game, my thoughts

I agree. It was extremely hot in my opinion. It was so hot I checked the current weather right before kickoff and it said it was 80 degrees with 83% humidity. Which normally doesn't feel THAT bad I thought, but for some reason it felt worse than any other day we had been in Tampa, even though it...

That's what I like about you guys much better than Iowa fans. Going on the Iowa boards after we beat them handily in last years bowl game, there were so many threads about how they had just got beaten by a bottom-dwelling SEC team and how they should never lose to such a bad team. It just felt...

    Official first-half thread

You're a classy guy. The yardage was closer than 45-6 would indicate as well. And don't worry, we hate Alabama and Florida as well. Tennessee is kind of the "outsiders" of the SEC the last few years. We've fallen from our glory years, at least temporarily, and during the process it has been...

Vol fan from the game, my thoughts

I swear, the crowd was literally just finishing the S-E-C chant when the PA Announcer says Michigan- 17 Florida- 7 and the crowd erupts with cheering haha. I watched the DVR of the game tonight and you could hear the SEC chant with 11:47 to go in the game and then a faint "Florida seven" in the...

Vol fan from the game, my thoughts

hahaha! All NU fans were nice that I encountered (minus the drunken one) and I hope everyone else had a similar experience. I expected a closer game as did 99% of people, but I think your defense just wore down as the game went on having to stay on the field so long. I felt like you all kept our...

He may be joking, not sure. I know tons of people call it Nashvegas, just like tons of people call Knoxville "Knoxvegas." I certainly have never heard anyone get offended by either name. And if it does...sheesh, you might have other issues.

Exactly. I just found it hilarious that Vol fans took over Tampa and the Gators got ZERO love in their home state. It was no different than if the score had been announced at Neyland. It was refreshing to hear the cheers in central Florida.

Haha. I don't know who it was or if anyone else saw it that posted here, but we had a front row seat toe the fight. The guy was so drunk or dazed that he had no idea who punched him after he ran up to a cop to tell them what happened. He pointed at five or six different Vol fans who were walking...

    "S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!"

I was all about conference pride until a few years ago when I realized "wait...why am I cheering for OUR RIVALS to beat up on other teams when they are kicking our a$$es as well?" It certainly doesn't help us very much if we're getting beat by our conference teams and they take recruits/money...

    "S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!"

I agree completely! As a Vol fan, I heard it and rolled my eyes and didn't participate. It's so cheesy and stupid. A Tenn-e-ssee chant would've been pretty cool. The funny thing to me was people were chanting S-E-C and then they announced that Michigan was having their way with Florida in the...

Our offense is bad, but we gave up 45 points

That was actually the Freshman QB Quinten Dormady. That was a pretty amazing play because he was hit by two guys at once and still made a play. Dobbs had a few great improvised plays like he seems to do against all of our opponents. NU held him in check running-wise for nearly the whole game...

For those of you who were there in person.....

I am a Vol fan who was at the game and we came down on Wednesday. The whole week was PERFECT to me other than the ridiculous traffic stoppages on the way there and back home. Going to the beach, eating at restaurants that we don't have here, and just generally being able to do whatever we wanted...
