    Soccer rules question of the day…. Why is offsides based on where the player is at the time of the pass instead of when he receives the pass? How is it an advantage if he’s no longer behind the defender once he takes possession?

    I’ll say that it still counts, but while it’s fine to put a feather in Jans’s cap for those appearances, it’s equally unimpressive that he hasn’t managed to win a single tournament game during that same span.
