    Lodging suggestions in San Diego

A quick list of my favorite casual dining options Downtown (note: I live in East Village so I tend to favor those): Breakfast: Breakfast Republic (Gaslamp), Herb & Wood (Little Italy) Casual and hip: Werewolf (Gaslamp), Barleymash (Gaslamp) Mexican: La Puerta (Gaslamp), Blind Burro (East...

    Lodging suggestions in San Diego

I live in East Village nearby Gaslamp and the rental car companies considerably overbooked their cars last year for the Holiday Bowl at the convention hotels. In general, Uber/Lyft is pretty well supplied downtown. For riding between Little Italy and Gaslamp/East Village I also recommend The...

    Bad news on Xavier Washington

I don't think you will find many advocating legalizing pot for all ages. I think the desire is to have it legalized for those over 21 in similar way to alcohol.

OT: The future of Qualcomm Stadium/Holiday Bowl is in doubt

I am thrilled! It not only moves the game to Petco but also probably moves most of the bowl activities to Gaslamp and East Village as well. I think the MLB All Star Game was a great example of how well downtown SD works for sporting events and associated activities.

OT: J.A. Happ is now 14-3

That just isn't true. The Padres did well in dealing Kimbrel and Pomeranz to the Red Sox as well as Cashner and Rodney to the Marlins. They have invested > $65M in international this year and are rated as the #2 farm system in baseball by Keith Law. The biggest problem for the Padres right now...

    Big Ten Non-Conference Scheduling Mandates

I think they added the exceptions because they were already on the schedules for some Big Ten teams (who requested those exceptions).

Big man Cher, Turner left us with huge vacated gap on team

I don't think you can bundle Ajou in with the other two because Ajou had zero value on the floor. Kreisberg's limited value far exceeds Ajou. Ajou was a walk-on level player who snagged a schollie.
