I recall Bobby Knight's time when his son, Pat sat on the end of the bench. He had his own issues as a HC, obviously but he never shoved his sub standard kid out on the court for starters minutes.
It's a tough spot for a parent/coach to be in. I can't imagine how much heat Saul would have got had there been Twitter in 1999/2000. I'm not sure a HC does himself or his son any favors putting themselves in these situations.
For every Greg and Doug McDermotts, there are probably 5 similar...
Thanks for the responses. I'm of the opinion that the HC's son playing on the team is hurting recruiting at that position. And I highly doubt that Connor McCaffery is an all conference type player.
I looked up his stats. His shooting %s and his PPG production is not where I would consider a Kentucky PG should have been. He was getting nearly 30 mins per game as a JR and SR too.
