Wrestling College Wrestling: Top 25 teams in operating expenses for 2025 fiscal year.

We’ve done a better job building a brand than landing elite wrestlers. Really all it is, I don’t think it’s some deep mystery. We’ve become really good at filling a lineup with solid guys but have not done a good job getting the upper echelon guys. Ashnault, Knox, and Harer are welcome...

I think what he’s saying is if LL beats Lee then LL would be the SR rep and therefore wouldn’t wrestle U23, making Knox the default rep in that age bracket.

If LL makes the world team then why bother wrestling U23?

3 of those guys won nationals titles so 5x4, 5x5, whatever the rule is they made the right decision so I’m not entirely sure that’s the primary reason. Those guys were/are elite so might as well go for it since who knows what the future holds. I agree that in this era, redshirting doesn’t make...

    2026-27 Roster/Lineup Discussion (Portal opens 4/1)

Crackers has lost all credibility so I don’t care what he thinks. My guess is if he redshirts it’s because he got hurt a few weeks ago and maybe it’s somewhat serious. Dunnigan is a quality wrestler who got stuck in a logjam at Penn. I think he’ll be a fine starter for now. Until the 5x5 rule...

We’ve seen Parkins first hand, we haven’t really seen the other guys day in and day out. It’s basically an average commodity vs a mystery box.

I guess, but Santaniello is now on his 3rd school. For someone with a mediocre resume, kind of a red flag.

Wrestling Rutgers Wrestling adds Penn transfer wrestler Kelly Dunnigan

Two transfers in our lineup wrestled Tyler Klinsky in the state finals. Klinsky AA’d this year and was considered for a coaching role at Rutgers this upcoming year before ultimately deciding to coach at Rider.

He was good in high school. Better than what we have now.

I thought James was a junior. Damn time is flying.

Wrestling Rutgers Wrestling headed to the 2026 National Duals Invitational

Only 4 of the top 16 wrestlers at 133 were seniors and the top 4 were all freshmen. At 285, 4 of the top 5 were seniors. And 6 of the top 14 were seniors. There’s a lot more chances for higher end finishes at 285 than 133.

Messenbrink will have graduated by the time James gets there

Huge percentage of the top 285 guys graduate. Going to be a lot of change, and we’ve done well with the upper weights. Herrera might not be our 3rd best guy but probably has the 3rd highest upside. I think Ungar, Barbosa, even SCW are R12-R16 guys at best.
