BB Recruiting 2025 European Forward Denis Badalau commits to Rutgers Basketball

I give Schiano a lot of credit for what he's been able to do with NIL and transfer portal. What's the disconnect with Pike? The roster is the worst possible scenario, poor construction, and IMO the worst we've had since the Eddie Jordan days. It's scary bad, smurf bad. Closer to 6-25 than...

Basketball 2025 NBA Combine Tracker - Rutgers Basketball Edition

We'll agree to disagree. It will come up in the context as a flag that they couldn't lead a team even into the NCAA tournament. Comes up with Ben Simmons for example. You don't see too many of top 5 picks in that category, let alone when 2 on same team. But the bigger kick in the nuts was...

Basketball 2025 NBA Combine Tracker - Rutgers Basketball Edition

Be prepared to here a lot over the next month wondering how Rutgers had 2 high lottery picks and couldn't even reach .500, how putrid the supporting cast was, coaches couldn't maximize what they had, etc...I'm sure will be cringeworthy, but maybe not as much as next season is shaping out to be.

Get me a Combo Guard and we’re Good to Go

prefer another 6'5" type wing who can play the 3 and make 3s...or a taller starting-caliber PG. preferable if the GW and NJIT transfers are off bench and start a better PG, Zrno, Fall, and Grant and a new 3... we will be seton hall bad if we expect Davis or the NJIT transfer to start at the...

    Transfer Portal Targets

Pike's approach is the textbook definition of insanity. Honestly, most coaches at P4 would not have survived this past season's utter embarassment. He's paid among top 25 yet his performance the past 3 seasons is anything but.

    4 remaining guys - Davis / Ogbole / Grant / Dortch

It's not just the money, but it's what Pike and staff do with what they have. Not a high batting average as we've discussed. Other teams have landed mid-major players who then improved a lot and fit. We get guys who don't fit and can't fit the scheme around the players brought in. Yet...

Portal is open. Let’s discuss here. Potentials, etc

I agree he can be the first or second off bench, but we won't sniff any post-season if he starts. Much the same with J-Mike. He can be a guard off bench, but not a starter at all. I'd prefer our efforts keeping Grant first, then Dortsh/Sommerville. And change in assistant coaches.

Fonseca’s spot on article about this season

just the first 2 days of the tournament have shown how out of touch Pike and staff have been in roster construction and identifying talent, not to mention their stubbornness to force their system on players who don't fit...even the mid- and lower-seeded teams have 2-way guys, not 1-dimensional...

4 D 2 players in second round, let’s end the Nil excuses now

outside of Yeboah who he knew at SB and Spencer, it's painfully clear Pike and staff can't figure out how to successfully recruit the right type of players from the portal. Or, he can't adapt his coaching style to the players he gets. It's both. It's what most concerning as we move...
