Rutgers Anthony Knox gets a #5 seed in this weekends US Open

Of course that could be fan bias and wishful thinking. We all try to be objective 😂

Rutgers Anthony Knox gets a #5 seed in this weekends US Open

I wouldn't write Knox off. Lee horses people around and now Knox has felt that. I don't think he can win but Lee isn't invincible. He has gas tank issues. He has injury issues. He has mental lapses. He definitely is favored but it wouldn't surprise me if Knox has a decent showing against...

Wrestling Rutgers Wrestling headed to the 2026 National Duals Invitational

I hope Rutgers gets a shot at a non BIG opponent. Plenty of time second semester for Big 10 wrestling. It would be nice to measure against some non conclference teams

Rutgers Wrestling 2026 U.S. Open Thread

I think Burroughs would consider it if there was an opportunity and it compensated him well. Not sure that situation is realistic at the moment. In the meantime, Rutgers has upgraded coaching staff, even if they evaluated it in a way that makes little sense to that outside. Many wanted a...

    Coach Mytych rips Goodale

Didn't Rivera badmouth on his way out the door to another d1 coaching gig? Granted, he aired dirty laundry with more restraint.

I also don't think this will hurt him. This day and age everyone lives on social media pointing fingers.

So they do more with less? Its not just about finances?

Damion Hahn was first choice not Ashnault

When Rutgers can consistently finish ahead of the teams listed, maybe that conversation becomes realistic. I wasn't limiting whats possible as much as I was questioning the logic about funding for the teams at the top explaining why Rutgers can't get in top 20. It really doesn't seem to very well.

Head to head is good. When it mattered most though, Rutgers finished behind those programs and it wasn't because of finances. The blue bloods have more money. That is indisputable. What about the other teams that finished ahead of Rutgers? Rutgers tied with Utah Valley and George Mason in...

Damion Hahn was first choice not Ashnault

It's not all or nothing/either or. Not all fans are saying Rutgers should compete with Penn St, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio st, or Oklahoma st. Most are saying Rutgers is in a good enough position to compete with and/or beat Wyoming, Columbia, Penn, Princeton, Indiana, Little Rock, American. West...

Peterson missed a lot of time with injury at Iowa. Its hard to know if health and nissed time factored in. Some Iowa guys actually showed up pretty well at National Tournament. There was evidence of some development with a few of their big name guys.

I agree with this. I've been coached by accomplished wrestlers who couldn't teach what made them successful because they don't know and/or teaching is a different skill than performing and/or athleticism accounted for success more than technique. With that said, there is some evidence...

No national duals for us again

I'm going to argue with myself. When I really thought about it, Nebraska struggled a bit early and Rutgers might have been able.to steal one there. They weren't a great dual team during the season but finished strong individually. I guess anything can happen. Have to get in though.

No national duals for us again

The rules are far from perfect and admittedly aren't logical but they apply equally to all teams which is fair. Does anyone think Rutgers is stepping up and beating Minnesota or Illinois in this format with a national spotlight? The teams that excel in dual format also excel at individual...

    Wrestling Coaching Carousel & Rumors

"We're fine" is not really accountability. Though I agree the team had and has the talent to compete.
