NSAA Board of Directors Meeting Minutes - May 23, 2025

I feel like someone shared a presentation and a link to a podcast episode on this board about 4-5 years ago and it sounds a lot like what you are describing. I thoroughly enjoyed reading and listening to those, and if it was your content, thanks!

Baseball regional. Headed to Chapel Hill to play Oklahoma

I'll admit I had gotten into "will look at the box score tomorrow instead of watching/listening to the game" mode early. Like California road trip early. This conference tournament was a pleasant surprise.

    Scarlet End Zones Are N

Is the anniversary photo worse than the Ted Carter motorcycle gift he received but posted as a gift to Husker Nation or whatever?

Baseball Big Ten Tournament Scores and Schedule (5/22)

If they want to maintain this format, make the 1 seeds in each pool play the first two games and leave the 2v3 game for the end so the 1 seed doesn't know which game they can tank to save arms. But I agree with everyone who says to just make it a single-elimination tournament with top 4 overall...

Baseball Big Ten Tournament Scores and Schedule (5/21)

Looks like Pools B and C are all wrapped up with the last game in each being meaningless. Any idea why the inconsequential Iowa-Indiana game moved up from Friday afternoon to late Thursday?

Notre Dame may be losing their annual game

And likely more schools going to the SEC non-conference scheduling model of playing a weaker opponent in the middle of or late in the season to give starters a break to gain late-season energy.

Why Tommie Frazier didn’t go to Notre Dame

I think that was Kordell Stewart (and we got Berringer in that class).

    Since no Sugar bowl

I'm guessing they got pushback from the Gator Bowl at 7pm from bowl reps and sponsors.

    Indiana and SMU

I actually like this concept: Six first-round, on-campus games. After that, the top two remaining seeds advance to the semifinals, the other four play to advance to the semis with pairings based on a re-seed (based on original seeding, not redoing the rankings). This will lead to six...

    Nebraska Hockey

I don't know so I'm asking: Is the Ice Box University of Nebraska property since the old state fairgrounds were given to the university system like a decade or decade and a half ago to create the research park? Obviously the Ice Box is VERY Stars branded, so neutering that like Haymarket Park...

    OT: Playoff Format

I appreciate those who take the stance of "just use the rankings", but a major problem I have is the rankings being veiled in secrecy and laden with subjectivity. If the rankings were by objective metrics and not seeming like decisions need to be repeatedly justified by determining sometimes...

Hoosiers jump to 5th in the new AP rankings

` Might actually take pressure off undefeated and one-loss teams this late in the season and allow them to play looser.

    Army/Navy

Yes. And the playoff field would be determined after the first meeting in that scenario with the potential for a playoff participant as the winner of the AAC title game to then lose a regular season game before the CFP. I'm rooting for the chaos.

Ceyair and Boomschini got their shirts. Indiana week PC Notes

Pretty sure Alex Henery did, and I seem to recall they awarded one to the Jesse Kosch in like 96 or 97. For some reason I'm thinking Sam Koch as well when he kept us in all those games in 2005.
