OT: Favorite Bingeable/ Weekly Show Right Now…

Another show we watched on a whim and ended up liking is Hacks on Max. I’m always looking for good light comedies and this one fits the bill. Just started season 3 and enjoyed the first two seasons. I think Jean Smart does a good job in it and her and Hannah Einbender have a good chemistry.

Big Ten trojan horse lures SEC toward lame College Football Playoff format

Well they based the bids on historical averages of what the B10/SEC/ACC/B12 would have gotten in the CFP era and I think it was basically in that 4/4/2/2 vicinity and that's how they come up with the numbers. I'd rather just have the top 16 but I can live with autobids. I suppose it could gin...

    OT: Statins

My brother is a cardiologist and has the same view. He's big believer that genetics plays a big role in it as well. I'm not on any statin, BP is fine, lean and not overweight and eat pretty healthy (lots of healthy foods go in daily) and exercise regularly (not a gym person but just at home...

    OT: CFP to 16?

I think the autobids and larger playoffs are what they think is needed to actually get stronger matchups. The SEC going to 9 games and the B10 wanting the SEC at 9 games to schedule matchups is facilitated by it. With 4 autobids, you're allowed that leeway of taking a loss in those stronger...

    OT: B10 Revenue Distribution

From USA Today article The Big Ten’s per-school distributions for fiscal 2025 seem likely to be around $75 million for all except Oregon and Washington, whose shares are being phased in over seven years. Iowa state board of regents budget documents from this past July show that the University...

    BigTen NIL Averages

Tangential news. I thought when schools started paying players compensation would be more transparent compared to the way current NIL is structured but doesn’t look like it. I always say don’t believe everything you read, it can be real, lies or half truths/misleading when it comes to NIL. I...

    OT: Stock and Investment Thread

Not auto but I mentioned in one of these threads during the holidays, I changed TVs and family phones in case of potential tariffs. It was going to be bought sooner or later anyway so tariff bluster or not it’s done and put out the way. So I do think there’s probably some pull forward of...

    OT: Stock and Investment Thread

In the short term, at least I’d say sell the rips, especially if there is potential for stock moving news coming up like earnings. As they say, you don’t go broke taking profits or at the very least take profits on some and hold some if you like.

OT: Favorite Bingeable/ Weekly Show Right Now…

Just finished Lioness season 2. Joe was more intense and did yell more but I didn't think it was too bad, more than tolerable for me. I suppose everything is downhill in terms of yelling after The Bear lol. Thought the storyline was somewhat disjointed though trying to make connections...

    OT: Stock and Investment Thread

Nothing shocking and I mentioned it above. "Not going to be the low cost manufacturing center for low cost goods" isn't earth shattering. If anything it can move from one place in the world to another but it isn't coming back here.
