Rutgers should cut football ticket prices to increase attendance

Valid point, but also a sad one. A forward-thinking athletic department would realize that a small short-term loss of revenue by cutting ticket prices will lead to long-term gains. And someone should show them the projected deficit if Rutgers gets kicked out of the Big Ten someday! Let's be...

Rutgers should cut football ticket prices to increase attendance

If I had told you a few months ago that UCLA and USC would be in the Big Ten, you probably would have laughed. Anything is possible in the current college football environment, where loyalty and regional rivalries have taken a back seat to money. If a member of the current conference is not...

    No Respect Out West

Why would anyone respect Rutgers right now for anything other than Schiano running a classy program? In terms of actual accomplishments there is next to nothing, plus they see a half-empty stadium on TV most games. It's up to Rutgers to change the perception; it happened briefly 15 years ago but...

What teams/conferences have the most fans? By the numbers

That sounds about right to me. Ohio State football is a religion in that state and most of the region. USC definitely has a lot of fans but it's not ingrained in the Southern California culture like Ohio State football is in the Midwest.

ESPN Article: What happened to college football in the Northeast?

Which is exactly why most fans are choosing to spend their money on options other than Rutgers football games. With a mediocre product on the field and people not predisposed to be college football fans here anyway, Rutgers should recognize that the price of tickets needs to come down. Get...

NBC Proposing Big Plans For Big Ten???

Whatever makes the most money is the decision that will be made. It certainly doesn't matter what Rutgers thinks, as we are one of the least valuable and successful programs in the conference. That's not a shot at RU, just a fact. I would be willing to bet that ND does join the B1G at some...

ESPN Article: What happened to college football in the Northeast?

I mean just look at our attendance struggles. College football just isn't a priority in most of the northeast unless the team is a consistent winner. I realize that we wouldn't be in the Big Ten without the stadium expansion, but it has rarely been full since completion. That needs to change and...

OT: Is it me or do a lot of Penn St fans resemble Sandusky?

I said at the time and still believe to this day that the Penn State football program should have received the "death penalty." There is literally nothing worse a program could do than cover up the sexual assault of children.

FB Recruiting Four-star DE Jahzion Harris transfer to Rutgers, expected to be eligible immediately

Great news! Good job by Coach Schiano and the staff to land this kid.

SBJ: TP really close to being B12 commish and USC/UCLA full share upon entry

Pernetti, who was in way over his head as Rutgers AD and made some absolutely awful hires here, doesn't belong in the same sentence as Mulcahy or Schiano when it comes to getting us into the Big Ten. But I agree completely with the rest of your post. And presently I do not feel secure about...

Some NY Times opinion types on B1G expansion

Exactly. All these people saying there's "no chance" of any scenario that negatively impacts Rutgers are simply wearing scarlet-colored glasses. That's why I keep saying it's important to 1) Improve on-field football performance and 2) Improve football attendance. Show the B1G (or whatever...

Some NY Times opinion types on B1G expansion

Hey you know what? This is a message board and I'm allowed to post my opinion. The only thing that's actually "silly" in this thread are all the scarlet-colored glasses being worn by posters as they bury their heads in the sand. If Rutgers doesn't start filling up its football stadium and being...

UConn Commit: Jim Mora Says His ‘Goal’ Is for Program to Join ACC

Funny how you attack me for bringing up the past and then turn around and do exactly the same thing in the next paragraph. And yeah, you definitely do give a "rat's hairy a--" about UConn (you're actually obsessed with them), as the post below proves. Are you 12 years old?

Some NY Times opinion types on B1G expansion

For me, the biggest takeaway from the USC-UCLA stuff is that all the Big Ten cares about is money. The days of worrying about geography or conference loyalty are over. That's why I think it's tremendously important for Rutgers football attendance and play on the field to improve...and soon. The...
