    It’s very strange how much luckier Duke, Carolina, UConn, Florida, etc have been than us in this century. Kentucky has a real coach now. We’re about to get lucky again.

    They weren't the mortal enemy most UK fans perceive them to be even then. That '78 team was a Cinderella, came out of nowhere to make the title game. They underachieved the next two seasons, Foster left, and they had to start over with Coach K in 1980-81. UK fans didn't begin to loathe them...

    Also during that game, there was a sequence in the 2nd half where UK missed several shots and kept getting the rebound. After 3-4, Packer screamed "nobody can get the ball!" SOMEBODY was getting the ball... it just wasn't his Duke boys. He was a world-class SOB.
